@perfacetus We say both, but it really depends. Everyone I know says "candy" when referring to stuff that's artificially fruit flavored. "Sweets" usually refers to chocolate or pastries. Except for on Halloween, where everything is candy- even pretzels apparently. Or at least that would explain why some houses give those out.

Sure there are good shows and times when even some bad shows have good jokes but compare it to the Animaniacs and can you honestly say they are better? A theory: They cancelled the show because we learned a lot and so they stop making educational cartoons and turned to nonsense stupid mushy dumb stuff so that they can blame our schools and tv and parents. My children learned early from a lot of the programs on early tv and now that they are adults tv is crap. we don't watch it anymore. maybe if we all shut the tv off the networks would get the point.
