  • i've seen this building so many times while driving along the Delaware!!! i never though that inside it would look like it came straight out of the fire nation. whoever found this place for the movie did REALLY good, i kinda wanna go down there right now and check it out in person, but i can't cuz that's trespassing :(

  • Looks more like a set for Book 2 whenever Aang and his friends were trying to figure out how to take out that Fire Nation Drill.

  • it so cool knowing how close i live to this

  • i could see that really working for parts of the drill and the factory in 'the painted lady' probably just 4 the ships though, still pretty awesome.

  • that is the part when they visited the southern air temple.

  • Almost looks like the inside of a fire nation ship :)

  • what scene do they think they going to shoot in there? Its a modern building

  • there is no toph in the movie am i right

  • Not in the frist movie but I think she'll be there in the seconded movie.

  • Watch my avatar updates and vids there awesome

  • avatar isn't anime...is it from japan? no i don't think it is. It was made by two american guys with asian influence.

  • Anime is just cartoons.

The Japanese do not have a Katakana form for cartoons.

Anime means cartoons. The style is not set as pointy-chined, wide-eyed people, it is just the most common.

And yes, Avatar is anime, it is an Asian influenced cartoon.

  • There are two reasons i don't think this movie will not do it for me:

    1) Not to sound bitchy...but M.Night Shyamalan? serz... The Genre Does not suit him at all...no offence to anyone but he is more of a thriller suspense director, not a fantasy Anime (Live action) director.

  • 2) Not to seem really racist or nyfing but... there are no asain actors to play the parts??? wtf? Anime = Asian! , but not to seem absolutely racist at all, i will give u two examples of Live action anime that included Asians that were a hit!: Death Note! and Initial D!

Sorry if i made anyone angry, just stating my opinion

    (^w^)y

  • well actually it isn't actually anime, and i think the earth kingdom will be asian, so if its true Toph will be asian! :D

  • technically no but it was made with the Anime/Manga style so therefore it should be =D and yay Toph will be asian! Woot! lol

  • no, i thin the fire nation should have been asian, they had the asian look, and zoko's eyes were not big like aing's. he had asian eyes. i could tell them apart by race. unlike anime where all the characters have the same eyes. you can tell american from japanese. i think this movie will do good.

  • @Paulismyhero777 That’s true, but the earth kingdom will be primarily Asia and African, so there is a possibility that Toph could be black as well.

  • @vmana possible, but m.night said she would be asian so unlikely. possible though

  • your opinion is not well thought out. yeah it's your opinion, but it has no bases. you have no idea what you are talking about. it's not an anime, it was made in america. and animes are not all about asians. and avatar wasn't even in asian, it was in another world. not our world. the fire nation is fake. you have to do reseach before you can speak your opinion so you sound like you know what you are talking about. otherwise you re jsut talking out your ass like a retard

  • Sorry to tell you this, but it is an anime. Our, actually yours and all the other people who don't know what it is, definition of the word is different. Anime means cartoons, that's its definition.

Avatar was based off of different groups of people. It included the whole world and different types, so yes, it was somewhat Asian. The different races in Avatar were based of off different races in the real world. Same goes for the fighting styles that were used.

  • @animeluver01 OK, Can you name all the fighting styles in Avatar? Ba Gua, Tai Chi, North Shaolin Kung Fu, Hung Gar, Chu Gar Praying Mantis. The sword style that Sokka used was even Chinese. Granted, he did use a boomerang, which was Australian (aboriginal).

  • @pawoon No, I cannot. I remember hearing the names at least once because of a few interviews. Though, what does that question have to do with anything I've said before?

  • @animeluver01 You said, "The different races in Avatar were based of off different races in the real world. Same goes for the fighting styles that were used." The fighting styles are all Chinese. I think the Kyoshi warriors used Jui-jitsu (sp)

  • @pawoon I know...and I know the fighting styles are based off of real fighting styles. I already said I did one comment ago, I just didn't remember the specific names.

  • Anime does NOT equal Asian. It really doesn't. Do you know what anime means? It's the Japanese word for cartoon.

That's because they were made in Japan. This was made in America. There is a larger amount of non-Asian actors for us here; easier to find a cast, plus many of the Asian actors from their country are not fluent speakers of English.

  • moron. that's all i have to say. you don't know what you're talking about. you can keep voicing your opinions but i can tell you you have no idea what you are talking about

  • okay okay. lol don't need 2 go agro lol XD

jst sayin cuz most anime movies (regardless where they came from) have asain ppl as the actors... and even if the thing is not real some animes don't have that real worldy essence too but it's still cast with asian actors (live action movies) eg. death note...and i think now that they should have done it anime style...not live action...*sigs anyway i didn't mean to make anyone angry so yer (^w^)y

  • this will be fantastic guys

I always wanted to see avatar (the last airbender) in live action

and I'm looking forward to see jackson as sokka =))

  • its a fire nation ship people!!!

it has to be, i mean look at it!!

  • They are doing only book 1 in this movie

  • this is prolly gonna be tht factory aang and katara destroyed

    in book 3

  • how this is only the first movie of the first season

book 3 isnt tell the third movie that means no toph till second movie dont u know of jeffpalmer?

  • but they are shooting book 1 now, so Idk what this location is about then...

they are making it a trilogy with eachbook being one movie

  • i don't understand why people are pissed off about race when it comes to avatar. Does no one notice that in the show they don't look asian at all. The only thing that is asian are the clothes they are wearing and the setting of the show. And for god sakes people IT'S JUST A MOVIE!

  • THANK YOU! Finally, I can't believe those retarded protesters... ITS A FUCKING MOVIE! WHO GIVES A SHIT! Its just like Tropic Thunder... A white guy looked like a black guy...

  • HAHA. He did... for the movies... that's the funny part. That's like asking all the actors to go et plastic surgery to become Asians...

  • haha i know the cartoon is based off asain themes it doesnt mean the characters are asian and even if they were its retarded to protest its a movie geezz some people need to get a life

  • 007 Shuuuuut uuuup ^^

  • Well said, redfootninja.

  • The casting doesn't make sense. Why is there barely any oriental playing these characters. The fire nation is mostly Indian and Aang is white. Come on! It's so unrealistic. Picture a cowboy being played by some Asian dude or Wolverine being played by a black guy. They have to keep it real. I'm beginning to think that since the director is Indian, he could have played a roll on why they have so many Indian. Dont you think that's prejudice?

  • You should judge them on how they will play the role, not if they look like them.

  • it doesnt matter the race, as long as they deliver the part, it's fine.

  • i for one would rather see a movie with people that dont look exactly like the characters that have good acting than a bunch of asians look alikes that cant act for shit

  • amen.

    exact replicas are boring

  • im not sure who this youtuber is but he's the funny black who talks about movies.

he reveals the cast in this movie.

  • But in two years wont the Aang actor be too old?

  • they're filming it now, so he's the right age when he's being filmed, a year from now, when the movie is released, he'd probably look different at the previews when they release it.

  • well the Aang in the beginning was a goofy kid, by the end of the series, he was a man.

  • My guess is that they will change it so the series spans over more than one year.

  • this could be the northern air temple

  • Ok, the movies i think are gonna be split up like the books. water first(now), then according to an interview i saw, in 2 years it's earth, then 2 years after that is fire. :D thats like the harrypotter thing goin on!!

  • Yep. thats the whole idea. would kinda not work if they mixed it up...

  • shamalan's style doesn't fit franchise movie making, does nick know this?

  • Yes Nickelodeon knows and Nickelodeon is helping M. Night Shyamalan make this movie.

  • I love the music for these set location photos. It's absolutely beautiful. And it really ads to the pictures you see. I agree with the people who are saying Zuko's ship or any of the Fire nations. And if you add dark, dimly lit lighting to those areas with the pipework and catwalks with the occasional steam, you've got yourself what a real inside of what I fire nation ship would look like. Imagine what it would feel like to be lost in that place for the first time. Yesh Paranoia to the extreme.

  • it looks more of Zuko's ship. The inside of it.

  • I think it's Zuko's ship because....as far as I know, this movie will cover up the first bool of the series, and the big drill appeared in book two, while the factory from the painted lady episode was in book 3 AFAIK, not to mention that episode was kind of a filler and I doubt they would show that part in the movie because it didn't have so much importance at all.

  • its probably that huge drill

  • I bet that is the bowels of Zuko's ship.

  • painted lady episode wusnt first book it has to be zukos ship if ne thing

  • definitely fire nation ship

  • it looks like a fire army factory where maybe Aang's big battle

  • hahaha, i live in Philadelphia ;D

  • Some of that really looks like a factory, so I'm not sure what it's from of the first book. But then some of it looks like it could be the innards of a ship. Maybe the old booby trapped one near Katara's village?

  • i looks more like the factory katara took out

  • i agree, with Aang?

  • it couldnt be tht didnt happen during first book n the movie is based off the 1st book

  • looks more like the inners of Zuko's ship to me

  • It's probably the episode when Katara helped out the fire benders and factories in water nation with Aang

  • the location it's a fire nation factory?

  • I think this will be the prison rig from the episode "Imprisoned"

  • i'm guessing that this will be the boats. or perhaps a weapons processing factory.

  • could be that too *nods head*

  • WHo cares about the set?! I wanna see the cast and how much they resemble the Avatar Characters!!

  • they dont...... trust me.......

  • well the set is probably one of the most important things...a bad set=a bad movie, so it's just as important as characters

  • i saw it and they dont look alike at all

  • site like Slashfilm have pics of many of the cast. they dont look too bad.

  • From what I've seen in the trailer and these photos, the film is looking better than what I expected. Can't wait till next summer. It'll be worth just going to see if nothing else. But I secretly am expecting it to be epic now =)

  • I hope the background music is part of the movie soundtrack, it would fit real good (:

  • this is the drill that gos through bausing say wall

  • no it isn't. They haven't even finished this movie yet. By the way, it is Ba sing sei

  • thiss is obbviously the northern airtemple, where the all the pipes r. duh!

  • this probably the inside of Zuko's ship when he first kidnapped Aang on the second episode

    its definitely not the drill

  • Wow ya'll are stupid.

A: how would this be the drill, there only filming movie 1.

B: They're not going to dicard the drill because that would leave a huge gap in the story of avatar. Important things happen in that episode and they use it for evidence against long feng later.

So this is most likely Harus's prison or a fire nation ship possibly Zuko's or maybe even one they will use for the siege of the North

  • they are filming Book One right now...

  • thts season 3 o smart one. lol

  • its too early for that this is only season one in the movie these are probably for the ships and stuff

  • ooo, looks like a fire nation navy ship.

Anybody know if they are making the series into an live action movie or are carrying on from the end of the last book?

  • i think they`re making the animation into a live action movie...i also think i read something about a trilogy ...there are three books so it would make sense =]

  • the abandon fire nation ship... in the south pole.

  • Those pipes are to rusty!

  • It realy looks like the inside of the ship on the storm when they told zuko story i wonder if they are going to show that part in the movie the should because zuko story is really interesting

  • Definately looks like the inside of a Fire Nation ship. Maybe it's the one where Haru gets held captive. Or more likely, it's just Zuko's ship.

  • It can't be the drill because that's season two but the more I watch it the more it gives me the feel of the northern air temple? With how the mechanic has changed it? Just a few of the scenes but nonethe less I do feel the way.

  • Is the music used in this video James Newton Howard's actual score for the film?

  • no, it's from his score to Snow Falling on Cedars. I thought it was fitting though =)

  • I listened to the Snow Falling score, and couldn't find this segment. Which song is it?

  • Yeah, I think, like SokkaSwordsman94 said, that they'll most likely use it for the interior part of the Drill or a ship.Either way, there are plenty other scenes in Season 1 where they're inside a ship... hopefully M. Night Shyamalan won't limit his traveling and move around to fit Avatar's various settings.

  • hopefully the drill never comes into any movie. and its not in this movie it would be in the second movie. and dont worry about shyamalan, hes going allover the world for these movies.

  • I dont like the Drill either. Its kinda.. longstoried.

  • What r they shooting here for? which scenes?

  • I've totally driven past that old building, haha.

It looks like it could work really well for the Fire Nation ship idea. We'll have to wait and see.

  • supposedly it's the interior of a Fire Nation ship, or possibly the Northern Air Temple all mechanist'd out, lol.

  • That place actually looks pretty cool! I wonder what episode they'll use it for. Maybe the Drill... I hope they do, because the setting looks suitable for that episode. They're not using the outside of the building, are they?

  • Yeah, I think it might be used for The Drill. Although I'm not sure about the beginning part, when they're inside the building.

Lol why does it say "Airbender" at the end...?

  • Why would it be the Drill? It's still too early for that. It should be in the second movie.

  • yeah what Kildiazar said, and the drill is a shit piss story element Shyamalan would be wise to discard. but a little bit in defense of Sokkaswordsman they could possibly be filming scenes from the second movie as well, although i highly doubt it because he hasnt even began writing it yet. also the area does look a lot like the drill interior would. but again the drill should not be in the story

  • Ha ha ha, none of that will be in the film. Trust me.
