Jesus said in Matthew 5 that those who would live righteous WILL be persecuted. The persecution may come from people, those you know and those you don't. It may come from the Devil that is raging, as Laura's awesome song says. I've found this to be true in my own life. Jesus didn't promise us an easy life. He promised us an easy yoke. The reason it's easy is this: the things of this world don't matter. He's the only one, the only thing, that matters. If He is the first thing you seek...

then nothing that happens in this life is going to seem all that bad. When He is the focus, I could care less what's going on around me. If the One that loves me is the creator of all that is, then what in all of His creation do I have to fear? If this flesh dies, I go to be with Him. Where's the bad side to this?

He said to seek first the KINGDOM of heaven and all other things would be added to us. Are you seeking His kingdom first? God bless you.
