I had a similar one two weeks ago where a lady stood at the perfume display right in front of the employees and loaded up a tote bag and her fur coat with perfumes. She ran from me and the driver tried to hit me with the get away van. Agreed. I'm white and I have shoplifted a couple of times when I was younger but never got caught. However, it's all on how you do it. If your very careful and not obvious, you can get away with it easy. The point is race and color has nothing to do with it. As you said it's stupidity. And unfortunatly stupidity comes in different colors. So don't steal, the risk is not worth the reward.

I worked at a Dept store when I was in High School and I was good at catching shoplifter most were negroes and they would yell when they were caught and say " You a Damn Liar" "I neva stold shit" then I would take them down and and to the back room where usually we didn't call the COPS we just smacked them around a little bit and told them never to come back.

my friend works in theft prevention and 90% of the shoplifters are black.
