Well done! You are actually having made the best video on this topic among all I have search and seen on the web. Also I really like your style and the simplicity of your advices. Ready to teach you are! Thanks.
yeah i just did a complete gut and rebuild of a dining room and a tv room just got done doing the drywall drust every were in the house even with plastic over door ways it sucks
my uncle showed me a trick for second and third coat and third put just a tiny bit of chaulk line dust in ur joint compund and mix it in. that way u dont have to use the pink stuff
All the time, I was thinking "dude, your f*ckin smoke alarm is beeping telling you your battery is low" then I heard it after I'd paused it. >_< I need to change my smoke alarm battery hahaha *walks off to get the ladder*
this bloke is awesome... and saved me like 360 bucks... the materials for my hole cost around 40 bucks, was gonna cost me like 400 bucks to get someone to come fix it... you sir just saved me a shit ton of money. +1
Dominick, thanks for the video.. very educational videos - have watched a few and finding new techniques is always awesome. If I could leave star ratings it would def be 5/5 of well spent time watching the videos.
Dominick - Great video! Thanks for the tips. I have a similar size hole. Probably 5 X 5 inches. Do I have to use the tape? Wht does that do? Aren't you filling the small gap with joint compound?
Thanks a lot for this video. I'm the opposite of handy, but watching this and having you exolain in a nice easy fashion, I feel more confident in doing something like this.
Great video. I have a large hole in my living room wall for years, that i've just covered with a painting. After watching your video, you explained and showed it to be simple enough, that I am now heading to Lowes to get some material and try it myself. Again, great video.
Oh boy, I've got some work to do. About how long does the spackle take to dry? I figure I can move from spot to spot in the mean time but I'm just trying to get a general idea.
Thank you very much for uploading this video. Very well explained and easy to follow.
Preciate the help! What would I do without the internet? Oh yeah, I'd have to buy one of those old Bob Villa repair manuals that came in installments for 29.99 a pop. Pfft, this is much quicker!

What grit for the sanding block, fine, extra fine?
Lehmann108 4 months ago
@Lehmann108 You would go with a 60 grit for heavy lines and then a 100 for over all.

Did you also speckle in the screws? Doesn't that make a little bump on the wall where the screws are?
super0chick 8 months ago
@super0chick One would think so, but not at all. The screws or nails are lower then the corner to the sheetrock it self.

So after u do the sanding, just paint right?
zRepLaY 1 year ago
@DominickDiy- so does the spackling you were using act as a primer as well?
Aweb2203 1 year ago
This is a great video! I was wondering... Is it necessary to apply primer to the repaired sheet rock before you paint?
Aweb2203 1 year ago
@Aweb2203 Yes you really should use a primer first. Otherwise the sheet rock will just soak up the paint. And you'll get a better job.
DominickDiy 1 year ago
@Aweb2203 Excellent vid! my problem is I never use a big enough putty knife.

Great video. Yeah you can get "drywall sponges" for like 6 bucks CDN at Home Depot. They work pretty good for sanding drywall.
