  • Hard to beat this of course with Doc everything he plays and sings is amazing.

  • Deep river blues is 'I've got the big river blues' recorded in 1933 by The Delmore Brothers!!!!

  • <3

  • it sounds good !

    thanx :)

  • this is so good! But there again we're talking Doc Watson - it's his feel and stunningly good taste in the notes he plays that makes him such an inspiration to guitarists and music lovers everywhere. god bless doc, and merle. gerry cott.

  • Doc is a great American treasure. I saw these guys live in Santa Cruz. David put on a huge slide show against the back wall of the stage. There were family photos - Doc as a lad with his first guitar, etc - and all sorts of famous pickers playing together. They were so YOUNG in some of those photos.

    IT was a beautiful show...

  • very very good

  • You have to hear David play banjo lol he can do strings. Doc is the king.

  • Last august, me and 2 of my friends were lucky enough to be one of 5 bands that played before Doc went on :)

It was a charity concert and he was the main thing, it was an incredible night.

  • Playing alongside Doc must be the best gig ever.

  • doc is one of the greatest.

  • Doc is great !!!!

  • ...that other guy's pretty good too ;)

  • That other gther guy's name is Davild Holt, who's replaced Jack Lawrence as Doc's traveling side man.

  • Doc is still handlin' it! Very nice!

  • Imagine how the sun and bay breeze felt on Doc's face. Cool.

  • its allready been posted, would be why its lacking in comments. i agree that it was a great performance, but somehow i like the solo version of it he does in that old black and white video from the 60's.

  • I can't believe nobody has commented on this video. This was absolutely entertaining at its very best. I just posted a cover of this classic Doc Watson song and feel maybe I should yank it off after listening to this great playing. Thanks for sharing! Mark
