  • NICE YOU DID GOOD I LIKE IT

  • thats a good paint job..........if your 3

  • I looked at the original car and never would have guessed you could save it. Very nice job.

  • Comment removed

  • ok to the guy "You cant afford a paint job but you can afford a 383?" I own a 86 camaro and It's not about what you can afford, its about saving for performance parts lol. stop being an idiot. Nice job on the paint very nice.

  • @blazedwolf82 yeah except why would you make it look nice b4 you can drive it? then you take the chance of scratching your paint job. besides that y waste the cash on the paint when it could have went toward the engine(the heart of the car) talk about being an idiot yeah lets paint the car then do an engine job and a rear end swap so it will take the torque of the new engine!!! yep thats the smart thing to do IDIOT

  • this is not an 87. this car is an 82 look at the front bumper and the camaro logo on the front fender. 82 was the only year this front bumper and camaro logos were on the cars. unless you changed the bront bumper and fenders then your just an idiot 87 looked way better. 383 stroker? come on u couldent afford a paint job how u gona afford a 383 stroker? Dream on man. maby someday u can afford it. untill then sell this to someone that deserves it and is going to do something good to it!

  • what primer did you use? DID YOU ROLL ON OR WHAT? show when rolling it on u asshole ur full of shit

  • cars a money pit

  • Is that an rs?

  • how do you get that glossy finish

  • you can't polish a turd...

  • @TheAustinWalls haha, I always say that too! Did you get that saying from Darnell the asshole junkyard owner from the movie Christine?

  • @yourallbrainwashed nope. drillbit taylor!! haha:P

  • @TheAustinWalls That's why i'll never polish a ford!

  • Nice,Nice,Nice Job Men

  • How did the paint end up? Smooth or a little rough texture like paint on walls?

  • ghetto ass paint job!

  • That's just doubled the price of that car.

  • Doesn't matter who's kids they are. You are an adult so learn to be a roll model and teach those kids safety. They should have had goggles and masks on ESPECIALLY being in an enclosed garage. Taggers and graffiti artists work outside on buildings and bridges mainly so there's barely any fumes to breath in directly unless there faces are right in the spray. Other then that I muted the music so to each his own on genre but the paint came out okay I think. Besides my ideas on child safety good job

  • WOW!!!!

That looks great!!! Thanks for sharing.

  • I've seen paint jobs done by amateurs using real HVLP guns, I've seen paint jobs done by amateurs with rattle can paint from WAL-MART - heck, I saw this housewife paint an old Buick Opel with red house paint.... but you know, I've NEVER seen a paint job with an oil base paint and a cheap roller. You REALLY CAN find anything on YouTube!

  • @backyardsounds WHERE YOU BEEN......... THIS HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS, HOT ROD MAGAZINE DONE A SPREAD ON ROLLER PAINT JOBS

  • Comment removed

  • @backyardsounds

This guy painted his 69 Dodge Charger with Rustoleum. Check it out! Because YouTube will not allow links, Google " paint job on a budget!? moparts " and it should be the first link.

  • @deejaedub That was cool.

  • You're gonna spend the thousands of dollars its gonna take for a 383 stroker, but you opt for the deluxe "roll on" paint job?

  • looks amazing! good job!...... good to show kids things about cars.

  • should of not put the stripes on would of looked alot better.

  • Why do you need a giant tach? It's a fucking automatic, you're not doing any shifting so a huge tach with a shift light are pretty pointless. Idiot.

  • unless the nose has been swapped its not an 87 maybe an 83

  • @duanesid i have a 1984 camaro with the same front end i think they changed them around 85 but im not sure

  • @bsblazzer A friend of mine has an 87 and I have seen them with that body style into the early nineties. Personally I am a Mustang fan and driver but old Camaros are great cars.

  • @shoutingback09 yes the body style is the same but the front clip is diffrent from 1983-1984 then 1985-1992 were the same

  • @bsblazzer Didn't notice that before haha.

  • @shoutingback09 lol yea thats the only thing they really changed on them looks wise but they changed a lot on the insides

  • @bsblazzer How many coats did you spray? I may have missed it if that was mentioned earlier.

  • This is why you dont buy used cars.

  • shoulda left it primer with the black stripes it looked badass

  • You got to use a high density foam roller not a f*cking house paint roller.

  • You got to use a high density foam roller not a fucking house paint roller.

  • Did someone die in there?

  • Is the paint still holding up?

  • I would have removed the lights, masked off areas better, and left out the stripes, but hey it looks not bad !! 100 times better than before, minus the stripes of course . Nice.

  • @pontiaclives yeah it was a waste with all the drip marks on the lenses and window rubber and glass would have been many times better with 10$ more spent on tape, brags poor boy at end but states a 500 hp 383...lol..500 hp good one...its funny considering how much money is spent in todays cars even to find an extra 150 hp, considering the crank and pistons and rods will be worth more than the shit car. sad. and yes buy some mask next time u shit on a car.

  • @josephthespeeddemon lol i was thinking the same thing. Something isn't right here. hah.

  • Man you didn't take off the lights+tires. You also didn't mask anything, the paint just spilled everywhere. I check out a lot of restorations at classic car shows. Even a little bit of overspill ruins an entire paint job because it looks so amateurish compared to the other cars.

  • its funny how all these people criticize rustoleum paint jobs b/c they are rolled on. One thing that started alot of these rustoleum jobs was a guy on moparts who showed pics of 3 cars he did like this, and they were blown away, he was featured in a bunch of magazines. You can make it look pro if you do it right (patience). sand, prime, sand, paint (2) wet sand. then repeat as desired till it has no orange peel and looks pro.

  • thats no street rod! 2nd it looks way ghetto

  • primer was way better.

  • U are a retard u don't paint a car with a paint roller u use an air gun u might have been able to sell that car for 2 grand but with that paint job you will get about 15 dollars and a kitkat bar

  • @ReviewItUp first your a douche. second the car was worthless to begin with. third this made a cheap car look a lot better.

    s

  • @ReviewItUp many professionals use roll on paint.

  • what grit sandpaper or whatever did you use to get all the original paint/rust off? im going to help a friend do this so im not just asking to never try. ill let you know how it ends up

  • How did you get your stripes to be perfectly straight and even with eachother over the spoiler and between panels? I can never get mine to line up from the hood to the roof because of the windshield. Any tips?

  • @MikeyK652 run the tape up the windshield when masking off start from the front of the hood to the glass then on to the roof

  • Nice Paint job....I think u shud've gone with Satin Black...would've been pretty sick to look @.....oh yea next time tell ur slaves to put on some mask when sanding.

  • roller? you should have used a self eatching primer for the bare metal. then filler primer and then a sealer then the paint.and use a sray gun harbor fright $20.00 for a gun, and they work good for the money.enamel paint is also not that much, and would look 100% better, just so you know for the next time you paint a car.rollers bad paint gun good! :) looks better than it did.

  • hey no need for a paint booth shit

  • tht camaro looks like shit

  • @MUSTANGGUY23 HEY!!!! fuck you mustang guy ford is peice of shit ur jus jealous kus you dont have one and ur stuck with a stupid shitstang CHEVY#1

    ................. bitch!

  • @novicane77 Wow, could you sound any more stupid? I don't think so.

  • not too crazy about them year camaro's. but the paint looks pretty good. hell, it looks ALOOOOOOTTT better than it did before. hopefully you are gonna scuff and buff it to make it look good without the orange peel in it.. and do something about the fugly steering wheel. and interior...

  • Dude, make your fuckin kids wear masks!

  • @calvinculpalt

I've been painting graffiti for a sure damn long time, and you have to breath in a LOT of paint fumes for it to actually harm you

  • @TotalGraffiti Keep telling yourself that. I guess cigarettes aren't harmful either right? They make magical jelly bean fields grow don't they?

  • @calvinculpalt

I never said cigarettes dont harm you...

There's graffiti writers with therrible complications from painting graff in the NYC tunnels all the way back to the 70's. I kid using spraypaint for an hour is not gonna cause nothing.

  • @TotalGraffiti Okey Dokey.

  • And googles..

  • @calvinculpalt And goggles..

  • @calvinculpalt

Couldn't have said it better myself. FFS what the hell were you thinking OP? It's one thing to do work like that yourself and choose not to wear a mask, but making your kids do it? Idiocy....

  • @calvinculpalt why would u care let them die!!

  • @MrHLEON2 0_0

  • @calvinculpalt man thats harsh those are the words that get u told to fuck OFF!

  • @D39854 And so is being a retard and setting your kids up for numerous lung problems in the future.

  • @calvinculpalt i missunderstood what he said.my bad

  • @calvinculpalt their slaves not kids

  • cool camero sorry bout your penis :/

  • whats the steps what kinda roller i really need help thax

  • i cant handle this music

  • @fstwrtr

I think you meant,,,,, make your brothers/sons wear masks

  • @MayhemOfHell not sure where you got that from " I cant handle this music"... but whatever...

  • Nice job, hold extra value since the family all got there hands dirty ans even though the camaro didn't have stripes on the roof ,it sure is unique you should be proud of your toy. i enjoyed the video. Thanks

  • Nice job, hold extra value since the family all got there hands dirty ans even though the camaro didn't have stripes on the roof ,it sure is unique you should be proud of your toy. i enjoyed the video. Thanks

  • lots of hard work... looks great! Keep on keepin' on!

  • put shittier music over your video man

  • BUT, can it blend? Interior shots?

  • "A lot" is two words. Why aren't the kids wearing re-breathers? You want them to have paint and rust in their lungs?

  • @Serp1313 pussy

  • @brsc2909

Idiot. It's obvious you're at a lack of intelligence. Don't bother replying, if you do you only prove me right in the fact that you're worthless.

  • man i can respect that! a real do it your selfer.....KICK ASS!!!!!

  • Only one problem Camaro's stripes end at an angle at the hood and never go across the roof! Check out the books on Camaro history!

  • Great job! And way to go on letting the kids help out. Very good experience. How does the paint look after a couple years?

  • looks pretty much like mine, but dude you got overpaint so much more spots than i did. i wish i had that kind of garage space to work in, your lucky.

  • WTF whit this music !!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe

  • with paint roller right becuase i need to sand down plastic what grit should i use im gonna do it by roller like you did is it easier if i left the bumper on or no

  • black out the tail lights

  • damn dude that turned out okay, nice

  • just wondering what your mix ratio was? thanks

  • sweet!!!

  • hey i had plnty of primer jobs like that when i was a kid and you did a great job ,..i myself never went that far with the roller and such as i had access to a body shop soi was talked into going the spray gun route but hey it looks fantastic and you put alot of work inot it i can see great job and enjoy it and donlt listen to anyone who sells shit about it either because i makes you happy and thts all that matters ,..not everyone has a compressor and a body shop full of spray equip ROCK ONN!

  • The saying "From rags to riches" comes to mind. That's a mighty nice lookin' Camaro!

  • did you do that with a roller!!!

  • nice

  • >>>Pretty nice indeed! You did a great job.

  • clear coat that thing man- also- how poor are you if you can pt a 500 hp motor in it lol

  • nice job with this car i have a 77 80 and 95 camaro that me and my buddys are getting rdy to paint and this will be the way we go it turned out nice.

  • Hey man thats pretty tight, mad props for you!!! good job.

  • Did you water sand and buff after? can't really see is there orange peal? I am thinking about painting my Jeep in this way. Anythings to look out for while doing this?

  • also this was posted in 2008 yet NO 500HP 383 sbc videos i think your full of it.

  • Prolly could have bout a gallon on black primer cheaper than what that cost would last longer and prolly look better than all that paint with the paint rollers

  • Pretty sweet not bad at all..... Could of done with out the huge tach tho.

  • ahahah some kids for slaves ahahah

  • god thats a horrible mess at the beginning..looks good now.....nice mullet by the way joe dirt lol

  • im doing a rustoleum paint job too.. im primering it now and going to paint it flat black with white strips with pin strips around it..im a poor 17 year old kid and im doin it the cheap way

  • Thanks for saving a camaro :D

  • Never would have believed it..

  • rally stripes should never go all the way down to bumpers... also i own a 87 camaro and that looks nothing like mine. i posted videos take a look. yours looks like a 82...

  • I want that car

  • Damn I'm gonna have to look into this myself!. Thanks for posting!

  • not bad kid, nice job... I've painted more than one car that way (in my younger years) glad to see you stuck with the idea of stripes.... good job!

  • looks good to me i painted my firebird hot rod black primer and trimed the power buldge scoop spoiler and fender vents flat black i get tons of comments i redo it every year its been like that 4 years now only cost me 30 bucks anyways nice job

  • Using wallpaper on the next one?

  • Cant see a lot of detail but looked decent for rolled on paint. You did a great job removing the cancer and the laying the primer. The white paint is where you went wrong. All the time you spent properly remobing the rust and preping with primer was wasted on some cheap cheap cheap paint. You have to use a good quality automotive paint like PPG, Dupont, Duracryl or something like that. The proper clear coat is what gives a nice shiny finish.

  • wtf dude... how could you paint a car with a tool used for walls and expect to turn out ok? come on :(

  • umm . dont know what to say about that!!!

  • yup, primer and stripes looked wicked.

  • Looks clean even with just the primer!

  • looked nice in white with stripes but i hope the kids had to wear masks when sanding as the dust will fill their lungs up......btw nice shape of car too :)

  • Did you use rollers to paint? Add any clear coat? I'm thinking for doing this to my civic. Thanks!

  • u need clear coat. it is a must. just use thin coats and always wet sand in between coats for the best results.

  • Thanks for the fast reply! I actually ment to ask what brand of clear coat you used? Thanks again!

  • lol. it wasnt cherokeejeff that aswered. it was just some random. i dont know of a exact brand. just search google for types of automotive clear coats or similar brands u could use. but it is best through a air gun and air compressor. u can usually hire those depending on where u live.

  • you don't need clearcoat.. wtf is all this nonsense.. they painted cars with single stage enamels for years and years and they held up very well..

  • ok so ask any good car re sprayer and ask them if they use clear coat.

  • Funny enough, you're talkin to one.. and keyword being re-spray, there was no spraying in this vid, this is a single stage enamel, no clear needed, think farm/tractor paint, or paint from the 60's on back...

  • ahk. so they use a different paint nower days. sorry bout the mis understnading

  • Yup.. in the 70s two stage with seperate base coats and polyurethanes/clears became more popular for a crisper, shinier, glossy finish.. the paint used in this was an older style single stage, rolled on with a high density foam roller, much more straight forward, apply in thin coats, and wetsand out any imperfections and orange peel, polish to a "mirror" finish

  • aint it house paint?

  • na rustoleum is an automotive paint. it might also be a house paint im not sure. ask hoosiecub a few comments down

  • they did paint with single stage paint for years but no it didnt last very well just about everybody has leaned up against a single stage white vehicle and walked away with white dust all over their clothes this rustoleum will prob out last that old paint rustoleum for the money is hard to beat!

  • good enough for me. I am in the middle of doing that to my 04 xb that has a crappy paint job on it now.

  • the best paint job I ever seen now paint the silverado!!!

  • I looked cool just in primer

  • @86camaromike yea it did but is that a 87 i thought the nose was different i thought 87 came with all the "ground effects " like the z

  • @usarmymp1 87 was the last year the base models looked like that 88 was when they all had ground effects

  • Greatest tribute to mulletheaded white trash ever! I love Metallica and 80's Camaro's. This video made my night!

  • you should have done a nice fat pinstripe down each side of it

  • i sanded my bike without a mask, and thought it was bad. wear a mask next time!

  • Good job!

    proud of ya.

  • It dont look as bad as it did but a spray gun will always give you better results. Should have rented a gun and air compressor. Still alot better than rust though.

  • how long did this paint job take?

  • nice job man!!!!!

  • nice work did good thats awsome im doin my 80 z28 and 79 trans am let u know how comes out

  • great work, the 85 fiero gt gets black with silver stripes and rocker panels when it gets back from the shop

  • sweet how much did the car actually cost i bet u are proud to hav a car with rasing strpes i would m8

  • so you rolled it on???

looks pretty damn good for a do it yourself like that lol

  • wow...it doesnt look THAT bad actually. definetly should have put a 82-84 Z28 or IROC front clip on there...i really really hate that front end. but to each their own

  • Very good job!

  • reviving corpses!

  • My '67 mustang stated out as bad as that, and now she's pretty bitching. walmart 99 cent paint works JUST FINE!

  • i really want to do the to my 87 mustang but i dont kno where to begin!

  • i woulda paint it yellow with black strips. and get some new tire and some new rear lights and if i had enough money. id get some new tinted windshields and later down the road fix up the inside.
