the problem is your touch style, the screen is not touchscreen, but under it there is a sensor, (hot or res sens) it should be pushed or what. :D

or is there still a possibility of error, the water that went into the phone. I had this, because I also have my K850i

but the simplest solution is the service brand ;-)

well this is obviously a hardware malfunction. But this is not the only problem the touch sensors have on this model. On some other k850i u might find that the sensors activate on their own.

i used before many sony ericsson phone from 'w' series to 'p' series all got problem with it screen and keypad, other all work fine, now i am using nokia n95 8gb , wow better than sony ericsson can install application, louder music, zoom until x20, carl tesser, acclometer, ngage,pdf , microsoft office, wifi, smartphone, visualisation , front camera can use for capture video and image (which s.e cant) . i wont buy sony ericsson phone anymore.

damn...all had the same problem, me too, that damn 3 touch button stopped working by it self, in Indonesia it cost me about Rp 250000 equal to $21 , and the sucks part is I must wait for about a month to get the parts.

Add me to the list. Slightly different fault, but a very common one - pressing the Down action (and sometimes Left) or 5 activates the Back touch button.

i found out what was wrong with it guys and gals!!! ...if your keypad lights up and screen turns black just use the usb cord that comes with your phone and get the software on the enternet to download it on to your phone i did it and it works... chazitz u dont have to send it off to no where! but one thing though it will reformat everything on your cel

I had this problem too.

Had it repaired under warranty. Apparently there was heaps of phones made with faulty menu sensors.. When they repaired mine they just replaced it and it's worked perfectly ever since.

u can till acces the menu by clicking on the multi button thing lol just incase that happens i made a shortcut to the menu and also i removed the flight mode menu at the startup of the phone :)
