As a breeder, it is the owner's responsibility to make sure all the pups are properly fed and are gaining weight. If it is necessary, you remove one or two of the larger pups so the runts can get a meal. If you don't do this and let the pups knowingly starve you shouldn't be allowed to own pets. With that said, it should be known that Momma's food intake will probably increase four fold to provide enough milk for 12 growing pups.
Thats a little too many pups for mom to handle, she must be constantly nursing so they can all get their fill, or some of them just get the shaft and starve.
thats good news, but i have seen like a litter of 15 uppies before, and 4 died of starvation. just because they couldnt get in there when mom felt like feeding, but mim didnt always feel like feeding them
That's what I was thinking. The owner mst of not been paying any attention because hey could of bought puppy formula to feed the other four. What a bad owner. :O
