I had seen some khattak dance but not of this sort. Der ala khattako. Jowandi aw abad owsi. I hope someone promote this dance to some good level. I feel proud to be part of such a people called Pashtoon.
It's a war dance/ Atarhn was performed before going into battle. It's also Pakistan national dance in which performers exhibit their swordsmanship skills.
Mahsud another Afghan/ Pashtun tribe of Pakistan have similar war dance/ Atarhn. Gilgiti sword dance is also interesting.

Soviet expedition was not intended for Afghanistan, only. They wanted access to warm seaport. The political scenario of that time pulled Pakistan into the matter. The world was Bi-Polar power. I had seen some khattak dance but not of this sort. Der ala khattako. Jowandi aw abad owsi. I hope someone promote this dance to some good level. I feel proud to be part of such a people called Pashtoon.

It's a war dance/ Atarhn was performed before going into battle. It's also Pakistan national dance in which performers exhibit their swordsmanship skills.
Mahsud another Afghan/ Pashtun tribe of Pakistan have similar war dance/ Atarhn. Gilgiti sword dance is also interesting.
These are now merely exhibitionism today. People now are n't that tough generally speaking. :)

Dear friend, thanks for stopping by. What you see here is just a traidional dance. Lots of culture have similar celebrations, Sikhs have guthka, Scotish have their sword dance, etc. So they are not celebrating volilance. This use to be more of an physical exercise in the olden days.

This is khattak dance.. Its not like just shaking head and calling it attan. This is real khattan attan performed by saghris khattaks living in kohat, karak, and attock not all khattaks can dance like that. Only saghris khattak can.

I have a reason to hate tajiks from afghanistan, because I live in germany and have seen a lot of them closely, their women wear ultra sexy dresses but say we are afghans which hurts me because This is totally agaist the pakhtun culture. No real pashtun can consider tajiks as afghans who has shed the pashtun blood like that of animals. There is one nation of pashtun on both sides but tajiks haramis must be removed from afghanistan.

It was brittain who aplit us in 1893 and maked a TEMPORARY border between "Afghan(Pashtun)nistan" and "brittain India" so called Durand line, which is expired for many decades ago and now no longer exist. No real Pashtoon recognize the durand line.
