Huepow seemed more childlike back then. The original ending also seemed more dramatic (shaking camera, Huepow's feet lifting off the ground a lot, darker sky, etc.) I got a better emotional feel out of it than from the remake. It was the tiniest of details, the atmosphere of the moment...all out the window on the Wii version. If I had played DtP as a kid, I probably would've cried.
Strikes me as odd they decided to render everything in-engine since the old stuff looked just as good, should be easily portable, and shouldn't be hard to fit on the disc.
The original is always better. I think that the Wii version ending isn't as heartbreaking as the original. They should"ve just kept the original storyline, and just updated the graphics, since the characters don't have much visible emotion. Hopefully, the US won't screw up the game too much either.
i like the original better. the cutscenes are much nicer and the new one looks kinda... dull. ): and huepow looks so weird in the new game (full body). O.o and the characters look to almost always have the same expression in the new one which makes it less emotional for me. D;
Oh yeah that would have been nice! Who knows, they may add a few extra features in the EU and NA releases but I doubt it. They have already included so much but I guess we will have to wait and see! What I would have liked is pictures like you said, but ones which show the development stages. You know, vision concepts and original character designs? I love seeing them with some nice music playing in the BG hehe
well the americans have put extra's into japanese games like the number system for the weapons in capcom's monster hunter that wasnt in the jap first release but they put one in the american release. they were also allowing the american bandai namco to change klonoa's appearance meaning they must of had more planned. europian versions just bug check games so theres less game exploits like the grenade launcher glitch in resident evil remake. klonoa probably will have more new features in it.
The one thing I liked about the remake was the stronger voice acting in the ending. To me, it sounded like Klonoa had more emotion when he was screaming. That's just me though!
Though most people dislike the new look to the scenery and locales, I have to say I enjoyed them!
I personally loved the game (not to quite the extent of the original) and I also liked the many added extras they included such as a Boss Mode, Costume/Language change, and what I like to call 'challenge portals' where there are really hard challenges to overcome.
nah the old ones the best!!!!!!! nothing beats it, the new one is too modern and some of the good stuff has changed! the graphics are better for the new one which is a positive but the old one still beats it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its the BEST!
Wow... seeing this made me rethink buying the new game. I just finished replaying the old one today and I'm disappointed with a lot of things. Mainly the fact that the new Klonoa DOESN'T bare his fangs when he's pissed and seems to show no emotion whatsoever.
I really like some of the new perspectives in the Wii version (seeing Bell hill from far away, different angles in scenes), but the original videos are still tops in my book.
The far-away shot of Cress bursting out of the ground, the variety of Klonoa's expressions in the intro... heck, even the chaotic tension of the last cinematic seems terribly downplayed in the new versions.
They're not, bad, but-- there's just so much more magic in the originals.
its funny how people keep whining about how they don't show much emotions in the wii version of the ending, even though when compared, its almost EXACTLY the same

In my opinion, they should have kept the original CGI videos, while updating them with the newer character models for the Wii ver. of the game.

I assume the insert is the new video.

Honestly after looking at them like this, I think the original was rendered better.
The original ending still gives me chills....the new one....not at all.

i think the original was a lot better than wii
like PS version shows more detail in the moon kingdom and the wii version's moon kingdom looks bland

looks like they put more effort into the ps1 version then the wii version

THe new ones are damn ugly and bland, the characters are especially ugly.

the original still stands best against all of this advanced tech. but at least give them credit for trying to remake it.

In the original one, klonoa is much cuter X3
And in the new one, most cutscenes don't look like cutscenes at all...and klonoa barely put up any effort
pulling the ring out in the wii version.

"even though when compared, its almost EXACTLY the same"
Except different enough to kill a whole lot of the charm and beauty.
