I am a conservative that loved Martin Luther King and what he stood for. I have met people that marched and were arrested with him. When they were beaten, arrested and some even killed, they understood that this was the price they had to pay in order right wrongs, and they succeeded. A protest, a parade, etc, are events. There is professional protocol in journalism for covering events such as these.
This Fox reporter went to the front of the march, started to harass protesters during their protest which was permitted ( by this I mean the organizers had a permit from the city ), and finally the reporter was not there to report a news event but rather create one.
No other reporter from the other national news agencies acted in this manner and were respectful.
The reason they're trying to run Fox News off is because most of these people realize how biased Fox News is. I watch Fox News all the time, not because I'm a fan. No, I watch Fox News because it's like a comedy show. They are so very obvious in their bias. I think it is really funny. I was THERE at the DNC, and the reason why people were shouting "Fuck Fox News" was because Fox cameramen were physically charging through the crowd trying to start a fight. They were the only violent force present at the demonstration.

A protest, a parade, etc, are events. There is professional protocol in journalism for covering events such as these.
This Fox reporter went to the front of the march, started to harass protesters during their protest which was permitted ( by this I mean the organizers had a permit from the city ), and finally the reporter was not there to report a news event but rather create one.
No other reporter from the other national news agencies acted in this manner and were respectful.

Amp I agree but also there's a fine line to walk. Protesting is our right, but you have to walk the line with the police. Realize they are there to keep the peace and if things get out of hand then you're gonna get arrested. The issue with most protests these days is the young teens who get involved and become violent and start pushing at the police. VERY BAD IDEA. You push them..they push back 10 times harder. I was THERE at the DNC, and the reason why people were shouting "Fuck Fox News" was because Fox cameramen were physically charging through the crowd trying to start a fight. They were the only violent force present at the demonstration.

yes, there were protestors who ruined it for the ones who were protesting peacefully but the "anarchists" were a minority. check out vids of those who did protest peacefully who outnumbered the anarchists. and i hope you know the news is usually one-sided and they tend to exaggerrate things. very dramatically so, might I add. yes, i dont like the anarchists, they ruin it for the rest of us but what i can say. the only truth here is were turning into a fascist state and we gotta wake up.

your: you're correct. The violent protesters were a small minority; I think about 250 were arrested. And although many were apparantly anarchists, I still believe some were from the Left.

ugh...sorry but im getting sick and tired of people labeling each other, putting blame on each other. we shouldnt blame anyone but ourselves and THEM. they want that, they want us to be divided thanks to political parties. labels dont mean a thing in a time of war or revolution. your either on the side of "truth/light/good" or "evil." we should be united. in times like these, more than ever. who cares if ur conservative and im not. (forgive me, i get passionate)

your: well, I can agree with that. If I had one single wish, I'd want to disempower the ideologues on both sides.
We're only going to make real progress when we start to elect pragmatic Centrists who are willing to compromise a bit on Left/Right ideology in order to get things done.
With today's partisan rancor the ideologues are in charge and unwilling to compromise on anything. Too bad for us.

This is a common strategy: elect the democrats, and change will come.
Look at where this has gotten us, in terms of electing a democratic majority to congress. Since then, congress has continued to authorize more money for the fascist "war on terror" than Bush requested! Obama himself voted for granting the government greater powers of surveillance. He has also echoed George Bush's rhetoric on bombing Iran: "All options (including nuclear) are on the table."

Now these peaceful protestors are in St. Paul. They are breaking store windows, walking across peoples cars, starting fires, throwing balloons full of urine and causing property damage to peoples homes. But remember it is the police that are looking for a fight??

And we have free speech and freedom of the press and that's why the police are there. The protestors are not the only ones with rights. And when they infringe on basic liberties and safety the police and guard should and will step in. The dems recieved over 36 million votes in the primary how is that not representing "alot of people". I think the protestors do not represent "alot of people"
