@mandaltby Many books say that the Russian roads in the early 40s were not as good as the central European roads. Melting snow in Russia meant mud, mud and mud. Other motorcycles, cars and trucks will have had similar problems.
Hi. I am the owner (and the person on the film...)of the bike. It is a 1938 K500. It has maching numbers on both frame, gear, engine, and sylinders. The bike was under the WW2 used by Norwegian Police. Today I run this bike both summer and winter, and coldest day this winter I run it in 28 degrees below minus...(!) A Fantastic maschine! Hello, what fuel you use for old bikes?
I have a K750, it is designed for low-octane gasoline A-66 - A-72. This Side-Valve engine have E = 6.
Now there is a A-80, and that not everywhere. Only A-92-A98.
What can you advise me? Thank you.

The "K" stands for "Kardanantrieb", i.e. enclosed driveshaft with two universal joints, the type of drivetrain that these models used.
