I thought Bagoas was the saddest character in the history of Alexander's life. See he was made into a eunuch at such a young age and passed around as a sex slave until Alexander took him in. Yeah, it was common practice in sparta for an older male to take on a younger subordinate male. It was also very common for the relationship to be sexual.
