  • I grew up in Cripple Creek, and would catch and ride the donkeys for something to do.

  • haha this is fantastic, I have to go there someday lol

  • According to the sound-track listing on Amazon, it lists just Teddy Thompson as the artist of 'King Of The Road'.; Please double-check for me & see if I'm right on this, or, not.

  • they keep on coming around my apartment but its funny cuz they wont eat tomatos

  • I can't believe I have found another one here in the Springs with more subscribers!?!? Were have you been?

  • haha I fed them the other week, they didn't really like the food we gave em'..haha

  • I met the herd back in 2000! They were in the hotel parking lot just before my family and I left. I fed them orange segments and Mentos and they backed me against a car.

  • @ShinyHappyGoth That's funny!

  • @JeepsterGal I know! It was simultaneously adorable and intimidating.

"I cannot feed you all at once, I have only two hands!"

    "MOAR ORANGES PLZ"

  • I remember when they chewed the chrome and my windshield wipers off my car!!!!!!

  • @MostAwesome100 LOL! I just noticed this comment. Guess I've had good luck with them then. LOL

  • So cute, I'll be visiting Cripple Creek on vacation from California in a few days, Love to visit! Wish I lived there! Hope to see those little donkeys during my visit..

  • Cripple Creek Donkey Derby Days and Gold Rush Days in Victor, Colorado can be lots o' fun.

  • at the beginning of this video you said that the donkeys "are extremely friendly." that isnt always true. ive been bitten 3 times and kicked once. not all of them are friendly.

  • I'm glad to hear they're still allowed to wander around town. I haven't been back to CC in many years but I remember them coming up to the car and my dog acting like "what the hell is THAT?" and they weren't scared of her at all. It was very amusing.

  • Love those donkeys!!! I think you meant "descendants" of mining burros rather than "ancestors of". I particularly like the color of the blueish one with the dark points. That's a less common recessive!

  • Very cute video and good choice of song.

Forgive me if I sound like a dope, but how do they keep the town clean? Do they ever have to take measures for downsizing the herds? Donkeys are a hearty animal who do not require much for breeding. Just a question. I am not pro BLM.

  • They keep the donkeys down to only 7 all year around. In summer they have run of the town and stay together; in winter they are corralled. There are mountains and hills all around town and they are not always on the streets, etc. So cleaning up after them does not seem to be a problem. They are descendants from the donkeys used in the mining days...

  • Thanks for the education.

  • I lived in Cripple Creek as a kid and we often ate breakfast with those guys staring at us through the picture window! I miss those guys! I'm a long ways away from Colorado these days.

  • That's hilarious! I love to see the donkeys when I go up there. Sorry you're far away from here...I moved here 8 years ago and can't imagine living any where else now!

  • Haha!!

  • Funny. Reminded me of the horse we experienced on main street in Hyder, Alaska.

    Carl - Southpoint

  • Real good.

  • Wow. That put a smile on my face. Good work. Love those donkeys!

  • Thanks for the comment. It was the first time I've seen the donkeys this year, so it was worth a stop!

  • Thanks for the great shots of Cripple Creek Bob G.

  • Love the Donkeys! Love Cripple Creek!
