I am forunate enough to be brought up by wiccan parents and i have been a wiccan my whole life, this music reminds me of music my mother used to sing me to get to sleep when i was a little kid, and for those that say we are going to hell, well no one should say that to anyone even if we are different religions. Goddess Thanks. I first heard this song almost four years ago as a meditation to end of a sacred dance class and had not been able to find it since. It pulled such pain from me and pushed such power into my core. I am grateful for your posting this and the Divine for allowing me to find it this day!

thanks for posting this i sa great song and i have used it in meditation for a few years. this is from robert gass's album on the wings of a song. you would also enjoy may the circle be open that is on this same album.

I just wish they'd included the second part of the chant:
Ancient Mother, I hear your laughter
Ancient Mother, I taste your tears
...as well as the African language part of the chant.
It's how I learned it many, many years ago.

"Ancient Mother" is the title of the CD as well as the selection by Robert Gass and On Wings of Song. I've seen it available on Amazon, and I believe you can get it through the musician's site as well. It is a collection of 13 Goddess dedicated songs from differing worldwide cultures including Hawaiian, African, and Native American as well as modern Pagan ones like "May the Circle be Open" and "The Circle is Cast" both of which are on YouTube. The last chant on this video is from another group.
