I use size 3/8 fishing sinkers for my weights. They are really perfect. They come 5 in a bag and they have a little metal loop at the top so you can attach as many as you think is needed. You can attach them with a saftey pin or a twist tie or whatever you can imagine will work for you. I bought the sinkers for another project, and when I started this a week ago, I was wondering what to use for a weight and I remembered those sinkers. I got them at Wal Mart in the fishing section.
I am so glad to find a demo with how to actually start not by using a knot! I don't always want a tassel on each end afterall.
