  • He also taught a kid named Phil Keaggy a lot too.

  • Saw the brothers at LOKAR'S tavern on E 200th street many times--many stoned times.

  • HE IS MY SECOND COUSION BY MARRIAGE!!!!

my dad has met him :)

  • after living there 24 years, i left cleveland 6 months ago. the only thing i miss is seeing glen play live. it would almost be worth it for this one reason. this guy prayin thru his guitar

  • Hear he's Phil Kagey's favorite, EEric Clapton told me ..

  • Is he playing left handed?

  • @cawshat nope, its the cam

  • I heard he was Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitarist and in fact played at Jimi's birthday party. I've seen him a number of times and he is flippin insane! He can wale though. Man, can he wale.

"Can't go in the mississippi river no more. Too filled up with... dead babies"

  • I heard he plays for free because his rants are too much of a liability. Whatever, he kicks the guitar like no other. God bless you Glenn.

  • Sharp1972: I'm not sure the exact date Joe came by last. He does still have a good relationship with Glenn. I'm sure he'll stop by again when he has time. There are a couple of pics on the wall in Hooples of the two of them together. It's really awesome! Best of all...Glen plays for free! He's probably the best "unknown" guitarist out there IMO. Too bad really...but that's the way he likes it.

  • Forget "unknown", he may the best guitarist alive today, period.

  • yeah nobody gets me as excited as glen. he's always trying to do the impossible...and when he pulls it off. ..its sublime

  • I first saw Glen when he played with The James Gang at the Hullabaloo in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He was one of the best guitarist I had ever seen! I remember he used to wear STP overalls and this was probably 1966 or 1967. They were an incredible live and were never the same without Glen. Walsh had some big shoes to fill and he did an

admirable job. Those were the days my friends.

  • Hey greichenbach. I was there too. I lived in No. Ridgeville at the time.

  • Saw him for the first time last night at Hooples. Bringing people with me next week. One word- INSANE. As in, the man is clinically insane, and his playing is insanely inspired. Glenn bleeds his hate, anger, shame, and guilt thru his ancient guitar. Amazing.

  • dude can rock and roll. best kept secret in the city of cleveland.

  • secret?i drive 5 hours from london ontario canada to see him at hooples...the secrets out brother!

  • Does he still play that 335?

  • Glenn you're a genius! Why not share your talent with the world? Now I'm in Japan but I wish I could hear you play again!

Your old friend Kristin from PG&E days

  • you wouldn't reconize glenn these days kristen. he still plays very well, but he's completely freaking nuts. probably call you a "wench" before you could say hi.

  • anyone else see the rolling stone piece on PG&E in this month's anniversary issue?

I couldn't find it, but there's some interesting stuff (and a namecheck for Glenn AND Hoopples) at the James Gang biography site..

    Let the legend live on!!!

  • @comradebrad Hey comradebrad thanks for the video but some how or another it is backwards Gene is always on the right and at Hopples the bowling machine is on the left????......Pacohome

  • No, he is right-handed. I've seen him five times at Hoopels, always right-handed. The video has been reversed. Ir you notice the Chief Wahoo and the "Schwartz Bros." sign in the background are backwards.

  • A Cleveland legend for sure. Just listen to those chops. So smooth.

  • he's not a lefty, the video is reversed. I saw him

just a couple days ago and hes a righty

  • Words cannot describe Glenn's talent, period. Glenn has been refining his playing since 1967 and not SOLD OUT like Clapton and the others. Glenn is the ULTIMATE ROCK & ROLL REBAL who will never be in the R&R Hall of Shame.

  • In the photos from his work with the "All Saved Freaks Band" he is holding the guitar right handed but here he appears to be a lefty. Which is correct and thanks for your earlier reply to my other question!!!!

  • Glen Schwartz is BADASS! He was known as the "White Hendrix" back in the 60's and 70's. As stated in the title of the clip, he was invited to play at Jimi's B-day party by Hendrix himself. Unfortunatly, Jimi died before his next birthday, so the gig never happened. Glen was also jammin' with Janis Joplin and Eric Clapton back in the day. To this day, Joe Walsh still comes to Hooples when he can to jam with his teacher. Keep on playin'Glen!!!WADIN' IN THE WATER!!!

  • hey justin,,,does walsh ever show up at hooples to play with glen,,any info on the last time they played together ..that would be a treat to stumble into that show by accident
