  • the man from uncle was my favourite tv show i was too young to stay up and watch it so i would devise all sorts of ways to sneak a peek at the show with a spy perescope see around corners thingy etc.. i wanted to be illya kiryaken (yeah i know wrong spelling)

  • isn't it great to be able to listen to all these great tv themes? unthinkable just a few years ago--but thanks to YT we all enjoy!

  • A jaunty, big-bandish rendition here. Thx for posting. Now I'm ready to go out and kick some T.H.R.U.S.H. tuchus....

  • love it

  • I prefer the original Jerry Goldsmith 5/4 version with the tympani opening and low brass to this one. And it's clear that Lalo Schifrin's "Mission Impossible" theme was heavily influenced by it.

  • brilliant - sounds positively evil with all that brass

  • Grew up with this. How cool. a ONE WORLD James bond, Got to get the sheeple to accept the masters hand....to quote the NFL (NHK??) upon futher review....oh, gee, I am going to a camp?.ut there will be food? and free TV?....

  • Open channel "D" please.

  • Montenegro was the man! One of the great legends in my little musical universe.

  • Illya Kuryakin...dear God I had a crush on that guy!

  • I was blond so McCallum was my want to be. Also Scottish. Decent good guys won tv time. The 60's were the best of talent in tv and music. Glad I got to be a kid then. Still have my Have Gun Will Travel business cards and the walet even my partially filled bottle of Dante'. Don't you wish there was time travel.

  • This was one of my favorite shows, I remember they had a promotion on a certain brand of a 'packet of chips' ..or crisps as they say in Europe. You could join the 'man from uncle' club if you sent in so many empty bags with your name and details and I think there was a quesions also. I received my 'Man From Uncle' badge in the mail with other paraphernalia from the show. I was such a fan that I spent all of my pocket money on packets of chips..lol

  • Thanks for the trip back. I had that as an LP album back in the 60s. "Wild Bike" is another good brassy cut on it.

  • man from uncle, the avengers.the saint, man in a suitcase.the prisoner.danger man dept s, hawaii 5 0, the baron the 60s best peroid for tv

  • LOVE his music....LOVE the show....LOVE....LOVE all your pics, too! Did I mention I LOVE this...lol

  • I loved this show, of course i was only 1 when it came on so I probably saw the latter part of the series and some reruns. if any of you watch NCIS, Mark Harmon's character said about David McCallum's character in the show that he reminded him of Illya Kuryakin I almost fell out of my chair lol. ty for posting the tune.

  • My sister caught THRUSH! - no need to call U.N.C.L.E anymore :)

  • Classic show, classic music, thanks!

  • I was a big fan of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. as a kid during the 1960s, and especially of Robert Vaughn, who till this very day I believe is one of the coolest cats anywhere!

  • Excellent music!

  • I do not usually watch the videos, these were great. My best friend's older sister loved the "Girl From U.N.C.L.E" , she dressed like April Dancer, recorded every show with her reel-to-reel and typed them up and filed them. It is only a metter of time before we see this re-made.

  • Man from T.H.R.U.S.H. posted

  • I have this on an album - Favs are Solo on a Raft and The man from THRUSH

  • I was Ilya and my friend was nappy. We hunted down the girls from AUNT,

  • never knew hugo composed this is there any end to this mans genius

  • One of the two best tv theme songs along w/ Mission:Impossible, the Saint and Route66. Love the "Bullit"movie theme as well!

  • Yes I agree with you the 60's was a great time for film and TV sound tracks. I would add the theme from the Thomas Crown Affair and the Great Escape.

  • It certainly is. David Mcallum

  • Isn't that the dude on NCIS?

  • Great.

  • Do you have,"Solo on a raft" and/or "Wild Bike" from the Hugo Montenegro album?

  • No - But I post THE MAN FROM THRUSH

  • 1:17, I didn't know Marin Short was an UNCLE agent

  • Who the hell is Marin Short, I think I meant MARTIN Short. Apologies to Marin.

  • love these brasses

  • I didn't realize at the time that UNCLE was such a great advertising gig!

  • Channel D is open......

  • Is there to be a movie?

  • Hope not!!

  • I watched the show as a kid, collected the novels when I was older and got the DVD collection as a gift from my girlfriend. Thank you Celeste!!

  • The Man From U.N.C.L.E. theme rulz! =0]

  • I used to wear all the badges and have my suitcase c/w pistol, screw-on butt, silencer, handcuffs and invisible ink. Those were the days!!

  • Never forget, the women of the world owe U.N.C.L.E. an unending debt.

  • The large dish on the THRUSH weapon is an Infra Red light for the night sight (very cool)

  • The Man From Thrush up for 48 hours

  • Wow...I had the Man From U.N.C.L.E. Gun as a child.

  • I had about twenty of those Man From U.N.C.L.E. novels.

  • Dont understand how Man From Thrush isnt on YouTube

  • oops

  • If I ever should become a dictator I will order this to be made our national anthemn.

  • :D

    I love you.

  • lol - can I become one of your ministers?

  • Hugo Montenegro had a knack for "unusual" arrangements- it was during his scoring the "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" episode "How Lucky Can You Get?" in early 1966 that creator/producer/writer Sidney Sheldon decided HE was the one to write a new theme- and score- for the second season {replacing Richard Wess' "romantic jazz waltz" and score, which Sheldon ultimately became dissatisfied with}.

  • The squirrels for U.N.C.L.E.!!! How cute!

  • Much better. The early-mid sixties had unbelievable TV: Man from UNCLE, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, Time Tunnel, Outer Limits, etc.

  • @XMIR10B thanks for mentioning this,,it was all good

  • These guys are better than Austin Powers.

  • Does anyone have the Man From T.H.R.U.S.H?

  • I found it anyway on the net.

  • deezer - the-man-from-thrush-T991111

  • Yes, I have The Man from Thrush. In my opinion the most sensually evocative of Uncle themes.I can be reached through You Tube@ Insight tonight

  • Post "The Man From Thrush"???

  • Was this version of the Uncle theme played on the TV series?

  • You get all the women all the time, fast cars, mega weapons, and your name on YouTube. What more could a guy ask for??

  • Man I wish I was a spy. What a life!!!!!!!

  • I agree d3mar

  • gostaria saber se alguem tem os filmes originais da série "AGENTE DA UNCLE".SOU FÃ DESDE CRIANÇA

  • How can any onf the UNCLE themes (1963+) be affected by a show that came LATER?

  • Because there were several versions of the UNCLE

theme, this is a late version.

    zenileon

  • This version seems to be very much influenced by the Avengers theme tune.

    Zenileon

  • Ilya and Nap

  • Anyone know what the UNCLE briefcase would be worth?

  • i had man From UNCLE lighters, cigarette cases, comm devices, machine guns from 1966-1968, all with hidden deployments. I was amazed. Retractible machine gun, a lighter gun. These were realistic. Anyone else have any? PS - I had the official UNCLE briefcase with the real camera and the machine gun that came out when you pressed a button.

  • And "The man From THRUSH"

  • Great. If you could post the whole album please (or at least "Solo on a Raft")

  • Like it! The best version of the theme, for my money least ways, was from the film version 'The Spy In The Green Hat'. Don't suppose you'd have a copy of that you could post?

  • Thanks for your comments and support it's nice to know you appreciate this music

  • @steve01274 and the video, I do not usually watch the videos, these were great. My best friend's older sister loved the "Girl From U.N.C.L.E" , she dressed like April Dancer, recorded every show with her reel-to-reel and typed them up and filed them. It is only a metter of time before we see this re-made.

  • @steve01274 Great post i joined UNCLE when i was a kid and had the yellow id card uncle case i got for christmas ..but they never used me ha ha

  • Thanks for the memories, Steve.

Great stuffs you got here on YouTube.

    Luv 'em all

    Greetings from Malaysia.

    Keith

  • Thanks dude, that theme song is frickin' awesome!

  • Instead of the "Girl from U.N.C.L.E." shouldn't be the "Girl from A.U.N.T."? I know it's bad. I just had a B.L.T.

  • while we're splittin' hairs...should'nt it be the Woman from UNCLE???...just joking, but Stephanie Powers?...Wow, NO JOKE!...ummmm....

  • And thanks, Steve01274 for posting and bringing back a lot of memories of one of my favorite shows of the '60s. Plus all the info on Montenegro. He also wrote a killer theme for the

Frank Sinatra "Tony Rome" film "Lady in Cement."

  • I used to have complete runs of the Gold Key comic series as well as both the Man from UNCLE and Girl from UNCLE magazine which had original novels, plus the paperback book series too. Alas, now I only have my agents card; but I can still enter headquarters! :) BTW, for you completists out there; Thrush was also an abbreviation. It stood for:

    Technological

    Heirarchy for the

    Removal of

    Undesireables and the

    Subjugation of

    Humanity.

Gotta keep you newer agents up to snuff!

  • What a fabulous trip down memory lane! Thanks! OK, admit it: who else had a Man From U.N.C.L.E. Illya Kuryakin doll with a karate-chop action arm? ME! ME! ME!

  • Dave Penetana here use to watch this show in the early 1960,s UNCLE Stands for

    United Command Law Enforcement

    UN C L E

  • Must include Ilya Kuryakin. Remember?

  • Close, but you forgot the 'N' for 'Network'. Full title: The United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.

  • You forgot "NETWORK". :)

  • I just love that rich brassy sound from the horn section

  • This version of the theme was recently used in a BBC documentary about comic book artist Steve Ditko.
