  • this music ruined my degree.

  • Experimentation and the use of electronic devices for creating sound is valid, and certainly you need to know how to use them.

if you take this music as defense posture, you're wrong and the people who write here is right. YOU HAVE NO TALENT.

I LIKE THE NOISE, BUT THIS IS NOT noise this is JUST A PASSIVE BEHAVIOR WITHOUT MERIT

DOn´T DELETE MY COMMENT, TAKE CRITICISM

    YOU KNOw is truth.

  • @sadf496 @sadf496 I'm all about constructive criticism but I'm not sure what your saying. Let me state that I am not the performer Leporidae but the person responsible for the video itself. Its a matter of personal taste if you like the performance or not. I think it would fit the category of noise or sound art quite well. Whether it has merit or not is again in the ears of those listening. I happen to like the performance. In the end, who gives a fuck anyway?

  • when ill go on stage .. ill just bring the neighbors children ! they make a lot of fucking noise

btw .. in my opinion this is total bullcrap . i rather listen to a flock of sheep .

  • @navyseal924 Then please do so! Ambient sounds are awesome! Enjoy!

  • Everyday I'm shufflin...

  • very good... I wish I have some guys around here to perform my noise stuff live! I am alone :D

  • i am so like tripping out right now guyzzzz

  • it took me about 3 minutes to realize that the intro was over and that this was the actual song

  • so gay! like for real if you think anyone can sit there and listen to this fat chick fuck with a pedal your dumb as shit THIS IS NOT COOL FIND SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU LOOK AND SOUND LIKE A FUCKING MORON

  • @ajuggawhat Thank you SO MUCH for your deep and thoughtful comments. Now go enjoy your Nickelback CD....

  • Just sounds like the fucking tardis!

  • @Halgarf Cool!

  • sounds like a construction site

  • If that bunch of random noise is worthy of the name "music", then I am the God-Emperor of All Mankind.

  • @cpj1227 Dear God-Emperor of All Mankind...actually, looking back on this short film I made in 2006, I'd call this sound-art more than music. But to each his own.

  • reminds me of modern psychedelic rock

  • I prefer noise music with structure rather than random noise, it gets better than this.

  • I can understand that. Sometimes I do too. In actuality, folks, and I don't think Ms. Leporidae will mind me saying...this was not one of her best performances (she said so herself). It was part of a series of DVD's so, good or bad, there it is. Why this clip above all others has so many hits I don't know. Please check out the rest of the noise related stuff on my page...there is something for everybody...

  • @GiveMeAnthrax I agree, more of the human intention behind (some structural elements) are much more palatable. However I find even the most oppressive and unstructured noises to be usefull. after a while It gives me appetite for melody again. I get fed-up with the noise, just as do with melody, so I oscillate between the two constantly. I could never listen only to noise, but Melody and traditional beats structures get very oppressing on my ear after a while.

  • @GiveMeAnthrax I agree. But sometimes you just gotta say fuck structure and dance like a fool. :3

  • FUCK noise music i went to a party tonight with a noise music band and i was fucked up and was just like wtf.. is this shit.. I'm a music producer and know a lot about music and I could not understand this shit. Each set each band played was like 2 minutes man fuck i was pissed, eveverybody there hated that shit.

  • @sublimepuravidamae If it was a band it probably wasn't noise or sound art, it was just some shitty band. This is sound art. As a "music producer" (whatever that means) you should be able to open your mind up to new things and not be so condemning. If you can't deal with it, move on to something else. No one is forcing you to participate. But why take the time to put down what other people might find interesting or beautiful? WTF is THAT shit all about?

  • @Noncmuffin no it was noise music, it wasnt a band it was a group of guys with a bunch of of sound equipment and metal and crazy shit making this, they had sound boards and shit.

  • @sublimepuravidamae There is different types of noise music you know. I mean they could have possibly been a noise rock group. noise can be done in so many ways. It can be quiet, loud, ambient, organic, and can fit a ton of other descriptions too. It's one of the most creative genres ever because it is so limitless. Hell apply it to other genres too. Metal, reggae, jazz, drum and bass, dubstep, anything at all.

  • @Noncmuffin hahahaha a music producer.... what the hell is that for anyway.... o0 we don't have some of those in my studio... oops I meant my basement.

clash of sonic civilizations is what this is.

  • @OBSysteme I don't care how something is made, it just has to sound good to me. I just love extreme music in general. I would say noise's closest music genres are speedcore, splittercore, extratone, power electronics, and you may be surprised but heavy dubstep. Those long harsh basslines sound like something I would hear out of a power electronics act with just little more melody.

  • @sublimepuravidamae just cuz you make shitty beats for your friends with the free apple garage band that comes on your computer doesn't make you a producer. to each their own. you're free to dig your music and we're free to dig ours. we all have our own taste.

  • @sublimepuravidamae Dude, you just became one of my favorite people in the World. I totally agree.

  • I think this is very cool

  • That's not music.

  • @strongo25 that´s right

  • This person isn't very good at all and I like noise. There isn't much going on here to make it interesting, ear shattering, so heavy you can feel it. Even if a noise artist releases something a little quieter and less harsh it can still be interesting but this is just too silent a lot of the time. Some of my favorites right now are Sewer Election, prurient (check out older stuff), merzbow, and blue sabbath black cheer. Check them out, they are all great at doing what they do.

  • Boring as fuck. People paid for that show, do something, fucker!

  • @thprmr You know the concept of "pay to play", do you?

  • @BlueCougar I don't. Do you mean she paid to play there?

  • ti cao nella grattugia amplificata

  • Well, I guess it's called noise for a reason...

  • Sounds like pressure cleaning an amp O_o...

  • Noise music is great if you can see the point. :) I therefore fail to see the point.

  • mmm masochism

  • To the socially conditioned amongst you: try building the equipment that noise musicians use, then try and make a captivating, consistent piece with it. When you've done that, come back and tell us if you still disrespect these people for what is nothing more than them expressing themselves.

  • There are a lot of sad and unhappy people here trying to bring others down for doing what they love.

  • ....

  • a bunch of pretentious inbred fatasses who think they are making art by doing what [LITERALLY] a 1 year old could make if you repeatedly dropped him on a keyboard with random, crappy samples.

DURR BUTT ITS ART HURR ARTISTIK VALU

  • Guys her shit broke and she was just trying to fix it for 10 minutes

  • @frohawkk dude, this comment made me spit out my drink :D !

  • this is just ridiculous.

  • GOOD ! Spacechicken sound ! 100% Great noise music !

  • Ty glupia dupo !

  • haha, I thought this would be even 1% musical. It isn't, it's just random noises that I don't like hearing. Quite literally, this is pointless :D!

  • This is just plain shiitttt XD

  • I fail to see any artistic merit in this

  • I liked the sound of the device but what happen to the background in the middle of the set? I was expecting more noise.

  • I can sort of get the "noise genre" some of the artists probably find some meaning in it to them or use it as some sort of unorthodox meditation which I can believe.

What I can't stand is how this genre is more or less just a bunch of people trying to be the most pretentious hipsters. Whenever they defend the genre its always with the condescending aura of "you dont get it because youre normal but this is art".

I guarantee a great chunk of these people do it to look artistic or genius.

  • @MilkChan and not because they find real meaning in it. I don't have anything against the genre itself (its not my thing AT ALL though) but it houses some of the most snobby people.

Even years ago when the breakcore genre (which is more my thing) was more obscure than it is now, none of the people in the community got all that butthurt when someone said they didnt like it

  • I like it.

Because I just like noise :D

  • This is beyond shit, anyone who claims to like this is just trying to be "cool".

  • yeah, it's hard to understand

    but i like it =D

  • I actually kind of like it... ;)

  • It was funnier if one of his/her's tails would go into a blender...

  • Shouldn't suprise us, they're in California...

  • This actually made me laugh, just look at the enthusiastic audience!!

  • I could do way better. In fact I did. This afternoon. Around 3.30 p.m.

  • The newest way for musically talentLESS people to fake talent. It's like throwing paint on the canvas because you saw someone else doing it and calling it art.

  • Esto es una mierda

  • Anyone can blend a mish-mash of sounds and call it music...

  • I don't care for this song.

  • I think I'll work to these sounds...

  • I can understand how people don't like this kind of music because it is so different from what we hear on a day to day basis. But this is the most powerful, spiritual and intriguing kind of music anyone can let their ears feast upon, resonating on a much deeper level than any other genre. Sure, I love good rock n roll, but this music burrows deep into the entirety of my mind, body & soul.

    Pure emotion.

  • @BraveWarrior92 you're actually quite shallow to think that there is any meaning or emotion behind this. Music is subjective, but come on, you're talking shit.

  • I think the problem comes from the problem almost every artist faces, what really does it take to create art, couldn't anyone just throw paint on a slab and call it art... can't anyone bang pots and pans rhythmically or mess with different sounds in abstract frequencies and call it worth listening too?

  • I kind of wish the audio was done in stereo, just a suggestion.

  • Chubby women playing improvised nosie? I think I'm in heaven. No fuckin' sarcasm here, this is some very interesting shit if you experience synthesia.

  • theres no rhythm at all . no musical beat. if it had one then maybe i would like this . like a standard tempo atleast

  • I can tell right away this isn't my thing, but I figure I should at least somewhat understand it. Can someone explain to me the basics of it? The ideas and fundamentals of it? And how are they making the sounds anyway? :P

  • you all need to shut up and wake the fuck up. this music is terrible, stop lying. it is only respect by ears of pretensious idiots talking out of their asses or by people so loaded that their brain finds some liking to this. this is hardly music, it sounds terrible, and its fans are retarded. case closed

  • @bongquisha

closing the case with out hearing other side?

  • @sukkyatlife

i''ve already heard the other side and it is exacltly as i stated. if you don't believe me read the uploader comment up top. hes your run of the mill music douche. "my music only sounds bad cuz you don't get it, not cuz its retarded" honestly wake the fuck up, this music is terrible

  • @bongquisha

sure its not the most pleasing music to the majority of listeners but just because it doesn't use the standard instruments of music or familiar feeling of a set time signature and a root tone doesn't mean

it isn't music. It's an adventure into sonic textures and soundscapes

i think this far more musical than 1/2 the stuff i'd hear flipping through the radio and probably 10 times as original. not everyone who listens to this with pleasure is a douche

    don't make generalizations :D

  • @sukkyatlife

    well duh radio is shit.

in that sense yes, but i see this as more like a not-for-everyone(including me) violent ear massage through sound. i dont get how you can like it.

  • Vad är felet?

  • wow, very intense...nice

  • no wonder why shes ugly

  • awesome. loved the justin bieber influences.

  • i wonder if she can replicate the same exact "song" twice. you know, like you would do on an acoustic guitar for a regular everyday song.

  • so i can make "music" like this an make money? awesome.

  • great!!!

  • NOISE SHOWS COULD QUITE POSSIBLY BE SOME OF THE MOST BORING PERFORMANCES.

  • COOL!

  • this is soooooooo subversive mon. Im not sure all of you like properly understand yeh?

  • Comment removed

  • you are all fucking retarded. this is shit. no melody, no tempo, and disharmonious sounds. get a goddamn brain and get off whatever drugs your on that make you think this is good.

  • this is just obnoxious

  • The odds are the composer has composed this piece of noise by randomly piecing together and and manipulating sound bites whenever the time feels right. She doesn't care about the end result, what it's "saying". There is no demonstration of inspiration or creativity here. It isn't interesting, memorable or remotely distinctive from any other piece of noise.

It's literally completely random nonsense, yet you feel you can't say so because there's no way of telling; so you look for meaning in it.

  • Completely agree wiith you Dioclocko. The problem with noise is there is no measure of talent. The noise artist could be making it up completely as they go along. Everything could be completely random. Art is about expression, creativity, inspiration and emotion. This is devoid of those qualities. It is so easy and devoid of artistic merit. There is no message, no emotion. Just pure and simple noise.

I don't care if you love it or it speaks volumes to you. The odds are it isn't intentional.

  • Son of Stockhausen. The real avant-garde. I've heard better noise but I'm glad whenever someone focuses on it.

  • i love noise. and i used to make a lot of noise music (you can message me for some) my only problem with it is that the crowd sits or stands, they can't really interact with what you are performing.

  • W T F ! Are you guys retarded? Noise composer? Are you seriously dislexic?

How would you describe music...? Music is music, composed by organized melodies, rhythm, something that has at least some organization and causes pleasure to hear. Noise, is just noise. If this had some sort of rhythm or melodic pattern....maybe it would be considered music. But jeez, nothing. Seriously, this is hopeless....and to know there are followers of this...

  • @Diolocko Who says that it doesn't have rhythm? Noise can be seen as very progressive music. And in the end everything has a rhythm because it's a human creating it. Just because something isn't 4/4 all the time doesn't mean that it's not music. What you're argueing about is the same useless question as "what is art?". And please, don't refer to me as a "follower" lol, I just like this, I enjoy this. That doesn't make me some mindless zombie.

  • @EighteenHertz

    1. "And in the end everything has a rhythm because it's a human creating it"....huh? Is it me or that doesn't make any sense at all.. rhythm even has a mathematical explanation....care to explain noise's rhythm?

    2. "Just because something isn't 4/4 all the time doesn't mean that it's not music"....um seriously, do u get my point at all? and anyways, u mentioned progressive music, we all know progressive music, and OBVIOUSLY its not always 4/4....in fact...it almost never is.

  • @Diolocko

And yes I completely understand, not because you defend something means u're a follower. Agreed. Take nothing I'm writing personally, I'm irritated by the source of this argument, not with you.

    Expecting an answer....Dio

  • @Diolocko ERGO, noise falls under the category of, oh hey look at that, NOISE. Not music, noise. It triggers thoughts and emotions, but its...say it with me, NOISE. that doesn't make it music. maybe art, not music.

  • @EighteenHertz And thirdly, on a different aspect. You do mention a valid argument, "the useless question what is art". Well, let me help you. -Gotten from arthistory.sbc.edu- ART lacks a satisfactory definition. It is easier to describe it as the way something is done -- "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others" (Britannica Online) -- rather than what it is. Basically, everything is art, including noise.

  • @Diolocko Actually, yes I have dyslexia. And music doesn't need melodies or anything. Music is just art brought forward with the use of sound. Qouted from wikipedia (and any other site will say it): "Music is an art form whose medium is sound". And the unwritten rule for art is: It's art when it releases some kind of emotion for the beholder. Well noise does that for me and it is certainly a pleasure to listen to for me. Try listen to something like The Number Twelve Looks Like You or Psyopus.

  • @EighteenHertz Soooo, the rape of a child is a visual art. It brings emotion to the beholder, so I'm guessing that's about right?...No. Not everything that has a sound is music, it's simply called noise. It doesn't have to be an art. Not every sound is music. Think about what you're writing about, so you don't keep replying with dumb remarks.

  • @Diolocko Not every sound is music, this is indeed true. But when it's arranged by humans, controlled by humans. That makes it art. It's not that different from people throwing paint onto a painting and others buying it for thousands of dollars. And yeah, some people will claim the rape of a child brought in a visual way for public to see to be art. There are also shows where artists pile up real pig heads coated in blood. And people apperently like that, can't you simply accept that fact?

  • @EighteenHertz Ok. Let's take in consideration that part of what you're saying has some truth in it and resume your point to the "everything is art". Cleaning dirt might be art to someone, but it's cleaning dirt. Noise might be (at your point) considered art, it's still noise. It doesn't fall into the music category. A movie is a compilation of images, but not any compilation of images is a movie. Same goes for sounds and music. No logic in your comment. So I remain open for more "suggestions".

  • @Diolocko Ah I understand what you're saying, but "noise" is merely the genre name given to this kind of music. Because some band plays "rock" doesn't mean that they're drumming on a few rocks. The reason why it's called "noise" is because they use sounds that would otherwise be unwanted in music (such as static noise). I understand what you're trying to say, and yes this is a very abstract genre. Often the artists just improvise and can't repeat what they've done.... (read next message)

  • @EighteenHertz ...and that does take away that, pre-decided arranged sounds, aspect that you basicly see in all other kinds of music. And in my opinion, you shouldn't look at this kind of music like you look at a song in the hit chart. It's more ambient music, something that you play on the background than music that you really get into. It's kind of hard to explain. Anyway, it's not like I listen to noise music all the time, I have a need for some more "regular" music too.

  • @EighteenHertz I do understand what you are saying, but my point still rests. I'm not suggesting that it's the wrong genre name, it's that you're applying properties to something that does not qualify in the category. Again, not every sound is music, nor any arrangement of sounds. Therefore, this noise "thing" does not fall in music. It "may" be some other kind of future-revolutionist kind of art that incorporates sounds, but it's not music. The same as images and portraits are one thing...

  • @EighteenHertz ...and movies another. It doesn't matter if its called weird sound music, or noise music, or any other kind....it's just that it's not music. It's a compilation of sounds, so find a name for that art, but don't classify it as music.

  • @EighteenHertz Man evolved from primates (for this sake let's call it monkeys). You can dress up a monkey as a human being, that does not make him one. It's another kind of living thing. Men may have evolved from monkeys, but up to this point it's an animal, not a human.

Now apply the same principle to this.

  • @Diolocko Well yeah, we're just as much as an animal as any monkey or ant for that matter. Anyway, I'll stop persuing my opinion onto you. You've made your point, I've made mine and I'm glad to see that we could finish this discussion off without it turning in one big cliché youtube-swear-fest. Have a good day, sir :).

  • @EighteenHertz Well at first I was enormously pissed at what people thought of this "noise music". I still find it pretty stupid, then again I "have" by definition, to consider this some kind of art so I must show a better respect. Therefore I changed the point of my argument into the changing of art genre for this "art". Nice response though, cheers to you as well. But please, for the sake of music, don't consider this music. Remember what I've answered and please consider. Good day to you. =)

  • I love noise music, actually. I'm one of the only people on YouTube who says things like that, but I think it's so abstract and unique.. awesome.

  • Really great. Thanks.

  • This comment professes that I know everything about what music is and isn't and everyone besides me is a fucktard.

  • whats the difference between avant garde and noise music?

  • @PianoVirtuosi well, noise is a type of avant garde. avant garde is pretty much an umbrella term for anything "ahead of it's own time"

  • This is definitely music. Not quite to my taste, but very Interesting.

I think this genre has so much potential for artistic freedom that isn't getting properly tapped. No structure. No rules. You could produce ANYTHING.

It'd be interesting to hear this move further beyond simply noise and into the realm of true, finely-crafted art.

  • I'm having a hard time understanding this kind of music.

I tried to listen to some noise artists but it bulit without a curtin stracture.

only static noise, i would like to know more but it's so fucking wierd

  • i suppose one benefit of enjoying this music is that u can see free live performances at any time just by standing next to a construction site or motorway...

  • I like most types of music but this is fucking stupid!

  • @BullsEyeRocker

So is your name, to be honest.

  • why do people look up noise music to complain? is your life that dull? if you dont like it, then stay away from it and let us lovers of noise enjoy its expressions

  • music is defined as art through the medium of sound... nothing more, no where in that definition does it say that i requires melody, or tempos or keys and the likes... so i would say this is music, though not a popular thing to come to mind when you think of music

  • The crowd looks so pleased.

  • BOO!!!

i tried to listen to it, but this shit is terrible and i hurt my ears. i can't even dance to this shit. lmao

  • omg the coolest girl ive ever seen! ive never heard of a girl who likes noise music!

  • did you just call that thing a "girl"?

  • This is concrete music at it's worst!

  • a fucking emotional cripple music

  • This sucks really. ^^

  • @NorgeAllStar any recommendations?

  • This sucks.

  • I love noise so much, but how does one dance to this? If there isn't a dance, then damn it, I'll make one!

I hate all you people who can't accept artists like Leporidae and Sunn O))) just because it doesn't have an obnoxious, repetitive beat or half-naked women in the music videos.

  • you know this sucks man, I mean, not emotional. I've heard noise but this is shit.

  • It paints pictures in my head

  • shes just expressing her inner psychotic killer... i guess i am not intelligent enough to get this???

  • Comment removed

  • That was interesting.

  • we love her!!

  • I'll clear it up for everyone hating this, noise music is more of a "ya gotta be there" experience. The show is much better live. The way the noise hits you is almost surreal and can't be interpreted by inferior computer speakers.

  • oooooooooooooooooooook

  • sounds terrible. absolutely terrible. if you want to hear "noise music" walk in a city. it's much more entertaining. this is crap.

  • great dj is she in the clubs

  • why u people trying to make ugly things look better, It's SHIT OK!! SHIT things, not music, say it, dont be afriad, u dont have to like anything IT's SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • Go look up the definition of music, you brainless sack of shit.

Sure, this music may not be great to generally listen to, but it's very well done!

  • was zur hölle ist den hier los..garkein gehirn???

  • Some nice sounds in there.

To the people saying this has "no structure": it does have a structure, just not a melodic one. Noise composition can have structure. If you listen closely, you'll notice that there are "parts" to this performance where different sounds predominate (the voice-loop sounding stuff in the beginning, the rumbling rhythmic bassy noise in the middle, etc.).

  • good stuff, I like very much...

  • terrible oO

  • chujowe

  • You get more interesting sound than this if you walk through a crowded city.

How can she take herself serious doing this.

  • Beautiful

  • Is it sound? Yes. Is it made by man? Yes. Does it entertain some people? Yes. Look at that, it's music!

  • I love my Sacto noise peeps!

  • noise music is exactly that. noises manipulated by people to make music

  • Anyone who's studied music origins will know this is definitely music. It is sound(s) manipulated by human hands. The message is abstract for sure. But I guarantee that anyone not excited by this genre, are still happy with chord changes, tempo, and obvious lyrics. p.s.- I would love to hear your dick slapping glass project that you mentioned is in the works, bananarchy!!

  • Awesome! I wanna' hear the dick slapping glass project too! Thanks for the comments everybody...keep 'em coming!

  • PD. i think ¨noise music¨its not about technique or song structure its mostly a collage of atmospheres, thats what i like about noise.

  • Ok before I say this i just wanna let people know that im not hating on anyones opinions or taste.

This is not music. You can argue that this is an artform but im sorry to say that this isnt music. There isn't a tune or melody within the noise. I respect that everyone has a right to his/her own tastes but I just have a problem with it being considered a genre of music. I mean to tell you the truth it probably doesn't take alot of skill.

Thank you and im prepared for the thumbs down

  • I see your point, I'm not a great noise fan, but I like some tracks here and there.

It is hard to say, what is music and what's not, for instance, rock n roll was only noise for the some people back in the 60's and those old rockers might say that the industrial music from the 80's wasn't music.

skills? maybe u r right, u don't need to be an academic, in fact, anyone can do it

what makes the difference is how u use creativity. I think she has an interesting gear with her

    no thumbs down :)

  • Comment removed

  • i think one of the facts about this ¨genre¨ is that people relates to it as Noise music, yes of course you cannot say Noise is music. in the other hand it depends the usage you give to the noise to concider it a song, i think one of the things that define music is not the actual technique you use is basically a map that you build and mathematic order the one that gives music its name...i like noise but yes i concider this woman here not a musician,i can say she is an artist but not a musician.

  • Why does something have to have a tune or melody to be music? If it's human-organized sound, and people get something out of it, why isn't it music? Also, why does the lack of skill required hurt your perception of noise music?

I'm not that crazy about this kind of art, but I still would contend that it is music.

  • @Akerberus You're confusing music with song and personal taste with definition. Most music doesn't have melody; most indigenous music from anywhere but Europe lacks it, and many symphonies (even the old ones) go for long stretches without it. Melody can be part of music but doesn't have to be, no more than a photograph needs color to be a photograph or a sculpture has to be made of marble to be a sculpture. It's not music to your taste (or mine), but it's still music.

  • @Akerberus

Music=organized sound, noise is a sound and there is clearly a form of order with the noise

  • @Akerberus punk doesn't always take that much skill. Check the definition of music before you say something isn't music.

music: the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity b : vocal, instrumental, or mechanical sounds having rhythm, melody, or harmony

    as per meriam-webster

  • Only thing I find a little bland (and I play noise music) is the lack of visuals. It does get a little tedious staring at the top of someones head just hitting buttons. There needs to be either interaction or some increased visual. Like the stuff though.

  • Noise music is the most exciting genre happening right now. Its future music!

  • I hope this is what is on the radio in the future

  • Are people meant to enjoy listening to this?

  • i invite LEPORIDAE to attend (((Noise Shock)))II abstract art& music fest this July in IlliNOISE come where your welcome and cele
