This is one of the most realistic, touching, gritty, and emotional movies ever made. Certainly the best war movie, and probably one of the best of any movie. The soundtrack was a fitting masterpiece and really puts a chill on your spine, a perfect reminder of those millions who died in that war....

@lakshman4u Very true, but I would also mention the massive battles of Moscow and Kursk. After Moscow the Germans never had another chance to beat Russia. After Stalingrad the Germans never won another Massive battle (not including things like Karkhov). After Kursk the Germans could not even launch another massive battle. And of course after Berlin there was nothing left. All Russian battles. All larger than any battle fought by the USA.

Wehrmacht was just an army, and Luftwaffe, Bundeswehr, they were part of Wehrmacht. Rommel inflicted the worst battlefield defeats on the Allies in the second world war. If he had been assigned to the Eastern front instead of N. Africa, Stalin would have been as shit out of luck as the French were.

The russians have a long history of suffering.The tatars, the mongols invaded russia for centuries, killed many people and plundered their wealth.The tzars ruled and completely neglected people which helped the bolsheviks take control. This Movie is one of the best war-movies ever made. I think it's not okay to call all the german soldiers "Nazi" coz...if you would understand ...you would see that many of them are not a Nazi. They're just soldiers in a war. But I think "Stalingrad" shows the brutality of this war and of the german army (Wehrmacht) in the ww2. And all the supid kids writing "Hail Hitler" and so on...go die! Hitler was a fuckin bastard who causes so much pain, death and suffer.

@outsider81205 I am not a little kid, but i know something about WWII, There's a big difference between nazies, wehrmacht and the SS. Wehrmacht was just an army, and Luftwaffe, Bundeswehr, they were part of Wehrmacht. There are two units in the SS, the one who is in the war, and the one who controls the camps and something like that. The officers, military police and the nazies were the worst. Wehrmacht has nothing to do with the nazies, and finland has nothing to do with the nazies.

I didnt like this Movie, I mean.. I dont think the German Elit army who had been in many battles before Stalingrad acted like unexperienced new soldiers who saw their first battle in Stalingrad. They were probably more icecold and brutal.

Rommel inflicted the worst battlefield defeats on the Allies in the second world war. If he had been assigned to the Eastern front instead of N. Africa, Stalin would have been as shit out of luck as the French were.
Rommel was loyal to the Wermacht and not Nazi Germany however, and was forced to commit suicide to spare his family. Although he was the relative good guy in the story, I'm glad Hitler was stupid enough to kill his best general, otherwise we would have suffered many more casualties.

Only reason why soviet union did won, was bad couple bad stakes: Battle of Stalingrad ( they cut half mens between Russian front and Rommels divisions, if Germans wound attack with allpower to moscow like generals wanted it wound be sure victory) Battle of Kursk (germans had to fall back and they lost Ukrain

Some ashhole in wehrmacht told all information to Russians that Germans are going to attack in kursk, Russians planted over half million mines and hell of artillery. @dallenor If you saw the movie you see they didn't have enough winter clothes and that's why Germany last many men! Germany could win if Hitler sended more troops,supplies and help in to the front, but he didn't send much more troops because they we're fighting in Afrika and have to guard the borders of the Reich. Don't forget the Winter was very hard to survive, even Russians died because it was so cold.
