  • Michael Rye is the voice behind the "Carnation Coco Supreme" spot at 4:55. Jay Stewart is NOT the voice at 8:57.

  • 39 cents for a quart of ice cream. Lol

  • B and w. Lol

  • woo! The best thing about Wichita, Kansas is the Starlite Drive in! I miss it whenever I go out of town.

  • @redwingsmike3718 Keep it classy, Mike.

  • Is Jay Stewart the "Free Admission" voiceover??

  • Wow....39 cents for a quart of ice cream.....

  • Pizza first came to most Americans through drive in concession stands. I guess pizza makers were sold to them before anybody else.

  • Thanks for the memories of all those Drive-In goodies!

  • corndogs look like they have been radiated.

  • 3:01 is a "sponsored" reminder from Pepsi, using their 1967 jingle/slogan "Taste That Beats the Others Cold!" [Jackson Beck at 3:25]. Another "sponsor" is Carnation, on behalf of their hot "Coco Supreme", circa 1963 [Michael Rye, announcer]. 6:47 is another one, for Coca-Cola's "Fanta" (1967).

  • I remember these Intermission Ads! I used to go to the Elmsford Drive-In in the '70's-my first Drive-In movie was a Double Feature-"Let The Good Times Roll" and "Viva Max!",Both on the bill that night! We left at 1 O'Clock, tired but so happy! No Rain that night! YAY!

  • Never had Buttercup popcorn, Tony's pizza, and Carnation hot chocolate,.

  • 1:03 isn't that Thurl Ravenscroft, the voice of Tony the Tiger?

  • @FiendsInRedSatin1 Yeah, that's Thurl all right. You'll hear him at :53 as well, singing the verse "It's delicious".

  • I really remember the buttercup popcorn and the PIC wheels.

  • I love buttered popcorn, gross, those corn dogs look like they have lime fruit striped gum inside them. I'll take a pizza, no sausage though. I'll also take a Pepsi. I recognised that Pepsi commerial from another ad on you tube, it was from 1966. How did the little boy gat all that food out to his family? Children can go into a liquor store and purchase things?

  • can I download this as a file ?

  • @cybworld45

Do a search for 'drive-in intermission' at archive.org. You can download ads and countdown clocks from the 50's through the 80's there.

  • There was a time when corn dogs were new?! This IS old!

  • When I'm touring around I will do anything to visit a drive in.

  • yeah green stripes kind of like fruit stripe gum!! love fhis too!! thanx for uploading!!
