i hate that phrase so much! someone broke into my car yesterday and i was discussing with a co worker.... the first thing out of her mouth was "well in this economy..." its almost like that phrase is used as an excuse for why things happen.

This is just a bunch of clips of people referencing our disasterous economic situation. This is not a catch phrase, and it is not overused. There is no other way to reference the economy without saying "In this economy" or something similar depicted in this video.

This is like a video where you just take clips of a bunch of people saying the word "hotdogs" from television and then say "Too many hotdogs on television, ammirite guys?"

The problem with "In this economy" is that it doesn't provide information, it's left vague.

These could easily replace ITE, and provide details:

"In an recession"

"When jobs are so scarce"

"When stocks are so low"

"When people need to be thrifty"

But yes, people say hotdogs on television too much.
