  • Ultravox-Scouting for girls comparison? I was that age when I watched that show and I knew who they were 0_0

  • You could buy a DX7 for about £100 about ten years ago, such was their unpopularity some seventeen years after their release. They were so difficult to programme that nearly everyone used the presets. You can hear Midge Ure play his on the Band Aid song. DX7s dated really quickly and I wouldn't want one now! Billy Currie is a genius and Chris Cross is my hero.

  • I had a Yamaha DX-7 from 1997 to 1999, made in 1985. This keyboard was already old by that time, the piano sound sucked pretty much and there were other synths that had better sounds such as any Roland model from the same year, or an EMU Emulator. I wasn´t really happy with it so I got rid of it quick.. Too much propaganda from the Eighties bands.. hehehe

  • forever ultravox

  • Billy Currie - legend!!

  • Wow 2 band members from Ultravox hey, one of my favourite Synthpop bands.

  • are there any episodes?

    Because I missed the 90s episode :(

  • their on bbc iplayer

  • i would have liked to see them try to explain how to program the dx7 lol

  • Yamaha DX7?

  • True, see the official Ultravox forum for more infos about that TV show. The band didn't use the DX7 originally for their 1980's 'Vienna' album (DX7 came out 1983). They used CP-30, CS-20 and CS-40 instead.
