Thank you so much for this. I'm currently directing a film about someone with a spinal cord injury. I wrote in a floor transfer very similar to the third one you perform. I'm amazed at your upper body strength and how you can achieve this even when your daughter is dangling off you.
I now have a consistant floor to chair transfer, I studied your technique for the wheelchair at 90 degrees and practised 3 days a week for about 4 months. I'm really happy and am less concerned over a fall... thanks again, your videos are an excellent resource
The first technique is the one I am working on, it was very helpful to be able to watch it so thank you very much for posting. I find watching your videos pushes me, I'm a c7 quad but I plan to be a para with weak hands ;)
waw hey so whats the trick for getting back to wheelchair, i have been trying to do it but my arms are short and cant swim my self , and sometimes i get alittle bit scared.
All I want to say is Thank You!!! I have had to figure out how to do things by myself. Rehab and my physiatrist are a fucking joke and yet they get paid. Thank you really aren't enough words to tell you what this minute of video means to me.
GAHHH! what is wrong with me!! i have been trying to do this for a couple years!! <--- T7 that APPEARS to be buff (until i'm on the floor of course) lol.
Great video! I'm trying to learn to get in my Chair from the floor. The weight I carry is around my belly...lol I have tranverse myelitis and paralysed from wait down.
Thank you so much for this! It gives me great hope and some much-needed ideas as to what muscles I need to strengthen and how I hope to eventually be able to transfer from the floor to a chair (Oct.12 2008 motorcycle accident left me with a T7 complete spinal cord injury). I'm far from being able to do the simplest transfers, but this is what I aspire to!
you cunt lol. Im gonna have to try and practice my floor to wheelchair transfers. Only difference is i need a someone to hold my legs as they flop and spasm all over the place and then i need someone else on the chair. Mind you last time i did a transfer like that it was last october. I havent got a clue what my bodys like now! Probably worst, By the way im a T2/3
is that a tilite tx?

Nice job and with no brakes on. If I could only bend my left leg, and could pull that off. Thanks for making it look too easy!

the cool thing is that you are doing it without using the brake of the chair, that takes powerrrrr.
Still by far the best collection of instructional videos on YouTube

i've done it , the trick that did it for me
is that you move slowly to guide your hips to
the wheelchair , when i used to switch fast from the ground it just didnt work...
