@iSawTheUnseen Some soundcards don't work -es laptops. Use your primary soundcard for now if you can. If performance is too sluggish, check out the link for extra help with ASIO4All in the video description, ASIO drivers fix many performance issues that default soundcard drivers suffer from, People had so many performance issues in the past when I avoided mentioning ASIO - I was forced to cover this topic of ASIO at the very start which can be a bit intimidating and tedious.

excellent, excellent video..quite possibly the best Tutorial around to me..ive just become very inspired and to want to use the fl software in a way were I can perfectly sketch out my entire ideas in my head that come and go this helped alot..but 15 mins into it I was lost not your fault just been a beginner at this and taking it all in is too much..the patience and persistence to get better at it is what I need..im sure the rest of your videos will give a better in depth look thanxx a billion.

How can I affect the volume and pitch of just one track at a time on my playlist I tried creating an automation clip for master volume and pitch and dropping it on the track that I want affected but it always affects my whole song which I don't want.

I was watching this and realized my audio options wasn't set to ASIO4ALL. So i set it to that driiver, did everything explained in the video but now I hear no sounds coming out of my laptop. When i open the ASIO4ALL panel i see only a Realtek speaker diver. I am new to this so would like an explanation how to fix this problem

@aroc5000 Sorry about that - it's been something that has been a problem for a lot of people. ASIO is really important though. Follow the link in the video description for an explanation. This is a technical issue, use your primary when using FL Studio with YouTube.

@aroc5000 i got the same problem mate the only thing i saw was that every time that i had a program/game open that uses sound the driver is freaking out and when im closing all the programs you know like winamp,media player and restart fl or reaper(it does that on reaper too) i got sound :)

@awsomebamse it's already lower priced than most music software out there. I agree when it's software it should be more reasonable too - the catch is that other software companies charge you for updates so you need to pay for your software over and over again. When it come to policies like that - I can't say that piracy is not a bit justified. With FL Studio - you pay once and it's yours "Free Updates" for a lifetime - It is worth it. I bought FL Studio once over 10 year ago.

@awsomebamse I purchased the Fruity Edition of FL studio for 90€ (I think it's even less expensive for the download version, 70-80€ I think).

There's less stuff in it but it's enough for me since I'm not a professional.

And for 90€ it's worth every cent. :)

Very informative but you get a little fidgety with the mouse when talking about automation clips and that can get confusing, you want your viewers to clearly understand not just be breezed through with bits and pieces of info when the things you're discussing should go into more depth for a better understanding to a beginner. I didn't even want to put Automation clips in there -So I did say - "If you don't understand what is going on with automation clips- don't worry about it":. @SonicOrbStudios It's a 32 min video (which is not the norm) and the first of six videos of about the same length. I didn't want the intro to be normal for that reason, Video 2 has a long intro also, but I stopped with the long intros from video 3 and beyond, and I do mention this after the intro in video 2.

@McHatboySlim Yes - it's a strange limitation of the demo (may be a bug) that I was not aware of - you need to work around it . It's not an essential tool, just convenient at times. Simply create the channel a second time.

@kolle147 I mostly use a Yamaha Stage because it's full size and feels like a piano. I'm comfortable with that because I played piano for several years before getting in to music software I do have several smaller portable synths and controllers too that are v convenient, but Keyboards and controllers are all a matter of preference - and a lot of people these days are 100% software and don't use anything but the PC. What I use doesn't matter much at all.

@themannyfacturer ASIO is a standard - it's really important for overall performance - without it, you can still produce music, However - you'll find that there are serious limitations - Latency, real time input, and real time recording are not possible. Your project playback will start breaking up. ASIO was created to overcome these problems. Follow the link for the ASIO video in the video description. This will explain why your ASIO driver is not working.

When you are working on more serious projects - close all apps that use your soundcard and use the ASIO driver for better performance. @amahct you can't just watch it and expect to absorb it. Let him teach a skill, practice in FL, play with it, make it your own. then continue. If it's not clear, rewind it and watch closely.

Have patients and it makes total sense, dedicated an hour or two to this video though.
