i think the fact they are getting older has something to do with the fact they are not as animated as in the earlier days.  In addition bands change the lyrics to their songs while performing live all the time; they are the ones that are usually the most fun to see.

@kaliyuta I don't get that at all. I just finished watching this, and thinking that they're in top form. The older videos that I've seem of Rock Lobster don't sound as good, and I love the way the girls smile now when they perform.

They do look older, of course, and I suspect that how you feel about that colors how you feel about this performance. And how old you are may color how you feel about that. I'm in my early 50s, and to me these middle aged rock stars seem warm and relaxed.
