It also betrays the fact that you are a pretentious ass. The smule ocarina is a legitimate instrument, based on the 4-hole english pendant ocarina. Yes, the key/fingerhole mappings aren't exactly the same, but that's because the dev team used their digital advantage to extend the range

of the instrument beyond the normal one octave. More importantly, it takes just as much skill to learn to play. There are tabs available, same as there are tabs available for standard ocarina. Anyone can buy a "real" ocarina and play immediately using tabs.

It's a digital ocarina, and if you'd care to look you'd see that the developers really did their homework in trying to make it true to form. It isn't a fake anymore than a keyboard is a "fake" piano. You can play it with tabs or memorize the fingerings, just like a handmade ocarina. Why does the fact that it synthesizes the sound insult your musical
