Pavarotti and Freni can not be critiqued! They will always be celebrated for all time! He is the greatest tenor ever, no others have come close, no others today even merit to be in the same conversation! Freni IS Mimi, just like Kabaivanska IS Tosca!

I was fortunate enough to see Pav and Freni in La Boheme, a magical performance :-))

They were both 61 years old here! This shows what impeccable training they both had as young singers and how they preserved their voices all through their respective careers. Pity about the screaming match at the end, instead of singing it how Puccini composed it.

@MasterIsh91 They had the same choir master at the church at which they both began singing in Modena. But no doubt about their vocal abilities at all, but my comment was related to the fact that Pavarotti always wanted ting a top C at the end of the duet on the "Amor", instead of singing a piano A and allowing the soprano to sing a beautiful piano top C, and Freni had such beautiful piano abilities, the way Puccini composed it to be sung. Such a pity that he had to prove himself.

hmmm, maybe I'm being picky, but the last high note they sang was not in unison. I think Pavarotti was on pitch, but Freni was slightly flat, and it didn't sound good.

bery beautiful, luciano and freni sung perfect but luciano pavarotti more, his voice was smooth, streaming, and brilliant. and is very much sympathy between both of them, because obvious reason- they knew each other from the childhood. i just love him very much. bravo.
