It's not a bad interpretation. Actually...Alicia responded to some criticism about her comments and she basically said that she didn't mean in the way of conspiricy, but in the sense that racial injustice coupled with gross poverty in the black community in the US created the atmosphere that spawned the music style...so...she redeemed herself in my book...I was unaware of this when I made that first comment.
