  • And vancouver buildings in 1930 were the same as victoria buildings today, if not bigger.

  • sooo, they empress has always been covered in vines.. hmm.

  • These are so cool....

  • If this is from the 1930's, and it looks like it is, the narrator's math if off. The great fire of 1886 was about 50 years previous, not 70 years, as he says.

  • Victoria isn`t like that now. Neither is Vancouver..

  • Victoria isn`t like that now.

  • Victoria was very British in those days. Now the British became tourists.

  • One factor is that Vancouver Island wasn't part of British Columbia but it's own colony. Vancouver Island was enticed to join and one of the lures was that the capital city would be there.

  • Too true.... apparently, money passed hands in order to have the CPR make Vancouver the end of the railway, rather than the more logical (at the time) New Westminster

  • @azisman The original terminus point was supposed to be Port Moody, at the end of Burrard Inlet

  • Very Nice Find!!! But.....In All Honesty New Westminster Should Have Been the City To Have Kept the Capital Designation..For It Had Been Named As Such BEFORE Victoria Was....As Because Of How Vancouver Has the higher Density NOW... Should Be Our Capital City.

  • Can you tell me where to find James A. Fitzpatrick's Traveltalks on Mexico City done in 1955????

  • @alfonsobon What was the exact title? By 1955 I thought FitzPatrick had left MGM and the TravelTalk series -- and was either at Warners or doing the VistaVision Visits for Paramount.

I have 2 FitzPatricks about Mexico I think - "Motoring Through Mexico" and "Modern Mexico City," but I think these are both from the 40s. Send me a message if you wish either of these.

  • @JB1912JB That would actually be awesome... i may be wrong about the date but im sure it was Fitzpatrick´s Traveltaks so if u do have the chance id really like to get my eye on Modern Mexico city!!!!

    Thanks a lot!

    a.
