@rpb1231 hey yh I think it is mid or late 70's, Zakirji was probably in his mid 20's at that time :)

This is a very poor recording. It will just be cacophony for someone who is not used to the world of solo tabla. Listening to this live would have been an incredible experience though!

This is a very peculiar lehra. The 12 beat cycle didnt seem very clear initially...took me a good one minute of careful counting to finally get the laya right.. These two artists are MAGICIANS!

Wonderful!!! ya the ragas are different. In the middle i was getting two different sounds and these guys dint get off beat even once with the confusing sounds!!! Gods of laya!!!  Thanks for sharing the video>>>>>

i got the sense that the harmonium and sarangi were playing different ragas... ? sarangi was playing kaushikdhani and harmonium was playing somthing close to kirwani
