@gsingh93, can u tell me that in which year was this video recorded? ustad zakir ji seem to be very young.. pls tell me if you have any info regarding this
This is a very poor recording. It will just be cacophony for someone who is not used to the world of solo tabla. Listening to this live would have been an incredible experience though!
This is a very peculiar lehra. The 12 beat cycle didnt seem very clear initially...took me a good one minute of careful counting to finally get the laya right.. These two artists are MAGICIANS!
Wonderful!!! ya the ragas are different. In the middle i was getting two different sounds and these guys dint get off beat even once with the confusing sounds!!! Gods of laya!!! Thanks for sharing the video>>>>>
Ustad Alla Rakha seems to be very particular about the summ and husi!!! Great!!
i got the sense that the harmonium and sarangi were playing different ragas... ? sarangi was playing kaushikdhani and harmonium was playing somthing close to kirwani
I think this fantastic duet is from the early seventies, not late. Kya Bhatt Hai!

Is it me or has anyone else noticed that all Alla Rakha does is Dha and TirKit in all his compositions, no Dhere Dhere etc.

@SuperFlashman123 Yes, that's true, Khansahib did not play Dhere Dhere as he only played pure Punjab Gharana (which does not have Dhere Dhere).
