  • No Clue here

  • Some of your explanation on the roll of the home plate umpire is just wrong!!!

  • This is exactly why coaches should just worry about coaching, and leave the umpiring up to the umpire.....

  • You have no idea what the hell your talking about.

  • Please delete this - it's just plain awful.

  • wow, this idiot isn't even warm with him umpire expertise....who thought this was a good idea?

  • ou need to do more research before you can start doing instruxtional videos my friend. Do yourself a favor and delete this from youtube because it is not at all accurate.

  • Dude... I don't even know where to begin with how many times you are wrong in this video. You are the reason people don't have a clue what all umpires do, and are responsible for. If you ever want an accurate description of an umpire... Let me know.

  • Chuck is right. The UIC does not make "all the calls". The only "disputes" that he will settle is if it is a rule dispute btw 2 or more umpires. He also does not 'defer' on fair/foul calls. If there is a base ump on the line beyond the bag where the fair/foul call is to be made, it is that umpires call. Also, the UIC will not 'overturn' any umpire, even if he 'knows for certain that they are wrong.' If you want to make educational videos you might want to get some education on the subject.

  • Plate umpire doesnt "make all the calls". Yes, usually the plate umpire is the "UIC" or umpire in charge, but will not make the final decesion unless it was his call. Another umpire can seek his opinion, but the calling umpire usually will determine if he wants to change his original call based on info from the other umpires. Its an "indicator" not a "clicker". Fair/foul for the plate umpire is only when other umpires are not on the lines. Or, up to 1st base bag with BU in A position

  • Hey Chuck: I would probably agree w/ you 100% but remember that in a 2 men crew the dish man will take all calls in the outfield (catch or no catch) as well as the lines, while the base umpire runs to his position. However I think this a decent video for someone trying to get an idea of what an umpire's job is.
