  • Buy a great set of bump keys at BumpkeyAz. com.

  • Just to update everyone; Kwikset now sells their locks with a new design that defeats this kind of intrusion. I guess they were embarrassed by how "stupidly simple" this was to break.

Sources: Kwikset website/I just bought one

  • Look at the main parts of the video...Kwikset opened with plastic bottle...Kwikset company should feel bad

  • Wow all of you boys are so ignorant. Medeco, really? Think about that one more time and decide if all those different angles, depths, and sidebar make that comment as stupid as it is to me. You boys should leave those pesky lock things to the pros.

  • @bobrock28

um...i think you should do a quick search on bumping medeco locks buddy...it has been done many times

  • The new smart key kwikset deadbolts are bump proof. they are hard to pick but its possible.

    but no bumping.

  • They are hard to pick, and pretty much bump proof, but they're not secure at all. You can open them with a flathead screwdriver and some muscle. Just keep turning both directions and eventually the cylinder will give. It may take a few minutes but it doesn't make a sound which is spooky.

  • I bump medeco, master, kwikset, all kinds of locks. Higher quality locks are more bump resistant, not bump-proof. And a better made set of bump keys helps too. There's almost no way to make your doors bump-proof. Get a guard dog.

  • Can't bump Schlage Primus. You would need to get a hold of the correct blank with the correct side milling....good luck with that!

Plus because there is a sidebar, the tension needed for bumping would be very tricky.

  • Blah blah blah, easier and faster by bumping the locks. It just takes like 5 seconds and your in. I got a set at superbumpkeys. Com and they pretty much work as advertised.!

  • Not all kwikset locks do this, the newer bump proof models prevent this.

  • yeah, these old barrels are the worth piece of junk. If you have one of these lame old kwikset barrels, REPLACE them immediately.

  • oh go cry somewhere else.what if someone post a video on how to properly shoot a gun?they shouild take it off because of a few bad eggs might learn how to use it?go troll somewhere else.

  • geez, i was just looking for a video on how to install my new kwikset lock and what i find is burglar training on youtube! i suppose i didn't have to watch it.

  • You did yourself a favor watching it. Shouldn't have bought Kwikcrap

  • @UrbexNW

Lock bumping can be used to defeat almost any lock, into the 100 dollar range. Be afraid....be very afraid.

  • @MegaShredda

Abloy Protec is bump proof. Schlage Primus is quite resistant. There are $100+ fashion door hardware, but retail price doesn't determine the quality of lock mechanism itself.

Restricted keys with proper side milling is hard to obtain

  • @MegaShredda I would like to see you Bumping my EVVA MCS locks ;)

  • You should check the return policy of the store from which your Kwikset lock came.

You should have watched this video before you made the purchase, so you'd be better informed as to the quality and security of the lock you now own.

  • were did you get the lock at

  • The lock is my old front door lock. You can buy a Kwikscrap or generic KW1 based deadbolt for less than $20 brand new.

  • Do you realize they watch TV too? OMG what are you gonna do!

  • Then, don't watch it.

  • were did you get the lock and can i use a nail file instead of a metal file for filing the bump key

  • The lock is my old front door lock. I have a Medeco now. Metal files are not that expensive. Go buy some.

  • How about the new driverless design?

  • There you go - it works better when you have slight tension on the key just before hitting it...just like you would with a tension wrench.

  • Good thing DR Horton built my house with all Schlage locks...the best ones.

  • If it's not a side-bitted Primus or something I can't get blanks for, I can still bump it just like Kwikset.

  • haha, those are just as easy.

  • Abloy Pro-Tec can't be bumped. Haven't heard of any non-destructive entry methods either for those. Kwikset is usually the easiest to bump and Schlage's aren't any harder. Ditch the Schlage if you really need secure locks. Of course lock cylinders are only a small part of security and do nothing to prevent a kick-in attack which is one of the most common methods for burglaries.

  • hahhaah =p
