  • I Love this video!

  • Looks like another guy who believes money is the great scourge :) There is a reason for poverty, death and suffering in the world, but it think it has nothing to do with money at all.

  • No - money is not the cause of all world problems. But the ridiculous unsustainability of our archaic economic system is obvious. Currency is a useful tool that can be implemented in many ways - Our current system is by far, not the best - fighting it would systemically change our society. Try to post more ideas and less criticism.

  • Difficult topic. I'd say that the unsustainability of our economic system is directly derived from our own unsustainability.

I'd rather go for the decision-making process in the economic system. If a company causes problems, which society has to pay for in the end these costs should be turned into cost for the company.

Also there should be some kind of "Quality control" for people who want to attain important positions in the economic system.

  • "'Quality control' for people who want to attain important positions in the economic system."

Great idea --- sounds similar to this other thing called Democracy. Where the people elect those that hold power over others.

Imagine if big money did not control our democracy - but instead our democracy controlled big money.

  • The democracy can't control anything. Any system will always need people who make the decisions and people who carry them out. They must be chosen carefully, that's what we need to concentrate on, that's what we need to improve.

If we bring a greedy or a dumb person in such a position, we're screwed, just take a look at the US right now...

The first test any decider should have to pass would be a test on mathematics: logical conclusions, statistical probabilities , something around that level.

  • You are confusing the ideal of democracy, with what's wrong with current implementations.

You state: "The democracy can't control anything." ... The ideal is ... in a democracy the population has the choice to vote on issues that effect their lives. Adding mathematics tests for political candidates sounds like a great idea - try putting it on the ballot.

  • ideal democracy? I'm just trying to stay realistic. People don't have enough time or expertise to make all the decisions in a country, they must be given to specialists. Or would you let the people decide on f.e. healthcare? I guess most Americans would vote for praying rather than medical treatment :)

Is that an improvement over the current situation? Also many people can't make logic conclusions. I would never like the people to rule the whole country.

  • PapaJoe, you are treating our current system as though it is the only option and basically saying that the people are incapable of caring about their democracy. Our current, in some ways, has potential though it is severely flawed and truly needs fresh human ingenuity to breath life into it.

Because as it stands, it is impractical. Hence the purpose of this video: to demonstrate that it is currently unsustainable and must be altered and improved upon.

  • Ok. Nice editing. Not sure of the final message but the editing is killer.
