@alexyalan the millennium concert album was exagerately edited. The original show lasted over 3 hours...the album a little more than 2 hours. they took off PRESSURE, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, UPTOWN GIRL, PIANO MAN, MIAMI 2017, THIS IS THE TIME, plus a couple of covers from hendrix, presley and led zeppelin....it sucked!!! i tell you this cause I got the complete show in audio long time ago
@JoelFan I think the show goes on for about four hours so that'll be one helluva dvd when it's get out. Not that i'm complaining as i've only heard the cd which is only about 2 hours of the whole gig.
Was this from the show he did on new years 1999? He always makes a big deal and says he will not tour anymore every now and then but he is coming back this march!
I guess if you perfrom it for as long as he has, it gets easy. He said in the last disc of the greatest hits 1973-1997 collection that he just looks at someone in the audience who's mouthing the lyrics and he just looks at the them for the whole song and he knows he won't forget cuz they know. hehe :D
Billy was totally full blown drunk for this show. His dancing in the beginning is hilarious. This version is also kind of boring. It's way too slow. He still rocks, though.
Can someone help me figure this out. Which song came out first? It's the End of the World (by REM) or this song? I think Billy Joel copied the idea from REM and it has gone unnoticed. The similarities are there.

1970 - Neil Diamond: Done Too Soon
1987 - R.E.M: It's The End Of The World As We Know It
1989 - Billy Joel: We Didn't Start the Fire

Did the song come out the same time as the album it debuted on ("Storm Front" also 1989)?
gameshowguy2000 4 years ago 3
Can someone help me figure this out. Which song came out first? It's the End of the World (by REM) or this song? I think Billy Joel copied the idea from REM and it has gone unnoticed. The similarities are there.

Ever heard "Done Too Soon" by Neil Diamond? That one came out before both of them.

hell no!!!!!! billy joel came first, and you write that down!!!!
gilbygil11 4 years ago
Nope, We didn't start was on Storm front, released in 89... It actually describes his life from 49 til 89...
REM released "end of the world" in 87...
Those are facts, and they've been recorded, so you write that down, and remember...
BongZrGooD 4 years ago
There are similarities of course, but does that have to mean Billy Joel copied the idea?
They are totally different songs, and maybe it is not as much that it has gone unnoticed, but it's a form of paranoia on your behalf? ;)
