  • Awesome score from Bernard Herrmann, one of his best :D

  • One of my all time favorites! I wish I knew those quirky characters. Everything from the brilliant acting, Bernard Herrmann's elfin-march music, the lush Vermont scenery to the witty one-liners is right on. Ol' Hitch truly was a genius!

  • I found Mildred Dunnock's character in this truly terrifying, I don't know why.

Glad you posted this. It's a terrific film but not one of Hitch's better known ones, again, I don't know why.

  • @4Topwood I'm assuming it's not very well known because it's one of his few steps into the comedy genre.

I think you're right about it being one of Hitch's few comedies, hence not as well-known. But To Catch a Thief and North By Northwest are definitely comedic. So maybe the difference is that they had Cary Grant and this one didn't.

  • @4Topwood Hmm, touche.

And I agree, The Trouble with Harry was a fantastic film.

  • i love old opening credits!!!!

  • the opening credits is hot! love the music and illustrations..thanks for the post

  • Wow, I have been watching the latest VW commerical and going crazy because I knew the music was so familiar! Found it!

    How did you know, mdumas?

  • There's currently a Volkswagen commercial out that uses Bernard Herrmann's title music from this film.

  • @ marc2789: Mee to!

@grainofsandfan: I'm sorry, I'm hooked on openings! Why don't you rent it?

  • I only hope I can see the entire film, not just the opening.

  • I love this film!
