I always wondered if this was a parody of Jerry Lewis. There was an old stereotype about him being big in France. straightdopeDOTcom/columns/read/1349/do-the-french-really-love-jerry-lewis ( remove DOT and put in . ). If anyone could ask a former KitH member who helped write it I'd like to know, but be nice, they may not even remember the skit it's been a long time.
@chronicleone Actually, I,m pretty sure they were making fun of france's preferences for «physical» humour, and as you can see, childish and out of date punch lines. And this observation is true, I,ve experienced it a few times in the past: one of the occurences being online and witnessing french people laughing at some dude puting a clown's nose on! Saying: il est rigolo celui-là!! lol
@Jcolinsol Good for you...but I didn't laugh so much , I was just shocked...felt I went back 50 years. But this sketch is pretty dated; isn't it from the late 80's? Anyway, I think the world has changed since then, with globalisation an all, this might not be the reality in today's France. First: ever heard of Rémi Gaillard? Secondly: I love french people, I have three french room mates, and one of them is very funy (normal funny!)...I sure would like to visit europe one of these days...sigh...
So, basically French Jackass? I'm kinda more of a Jacques Tati type myself. Incidentally I happened to watch Jeunet's latest movie yesterday, "Micmacs". Really good, and some excellent mime/clowning performances.

@zobazoba69 Rémi Gaillard is the symbol of all that is wrong with French humour. What an unfunny moron.
Alain Chabat, Francis Veber, Louis de Funès, now that's real French comedy.
