This version of Poor Ellen Smith is on a cassette tape titled "Tommy Jarrell - Rainbow Sign" on County records label, #CO-791. Google County Sales dot com and look under Old Time then on the second page you will find several by Tommy Jarrell including this one. The CD is $13.50 before tax and shipping. I presume it is the same as what I have on cassette. The cover looks different, but the tunes are the same. The one with him and Fred Cockerham is also excellent.
@warehambr, where is this version from? I have recordings of Tommy playing this on banjo as well as on fiddle with a full band, but I don't have this one (and I wish I did!).
