@AonaranMan Yeah, no problem. Xtal is good, but it's more techno or downtempo-sounding than pure ambient. Aphex Twin has two ambient albums; the second one (volume II) is the one with the darker sounding tracks, and doesn't have much in the way of beats.
@AonaranMan Same here, although I think the first two or three pieces on the album sound like a bright, snowy day. For more "nighttime" music, check out Aphex Twin - Curtains and Aphex Twin - Grass, both from the Selected Ambient Works, Volume II release. There's also Steve Roach's Midnight Moon album, which is perfect for nighttime listening.
This whole album, and this piece in particular, sounds like a still, snow-covered night on a farm somewhere, maybe in Iceland or even the North Pole. I can imagine shadows being cast against the snow, which itself has a blueish tint to it.
excellent, brain, harold, you have enriched my world with your music. mike eno was my music teacher at school, he claims to be your cousin; i believed him. keep the music coming. phil england
FANTASTIC! I have seen a few of your videos and they are quite the trip! I felt as though I was traveling through time and space constantly encountering new worlds and universes. Wondrous, and Eno/Budd sure do your work justice and vise versa. Thanks!
