Should have gotten it in Ruger 9mm or .40, that way it is an ambidextrous mag release and less likely to accidentally come apart. I'm a lefty and I've never had a problem with mine.
@agkistrodoncrotalus True but its still a right handed weapon.. and its been said by lefty users that they accidentally drop their mags causing a malfunction such as this.
@kville79 Im a lefty to and own a sub2000 also so don't feel so bad. I had the same problem with mine when I first got it. one of your left fingers are actuating the mag release do to the recoil and hand postioning. I simply filed the mag release down. Help's out a bunch. Also with the sub2000 being so damn light I have taught myself of to shoot ambidextrious and I am now just a profecient with my right then my left. I hated the powder residue being shot back in my face shooting lefty.

Ohhh I forgot it also had a miss-feed at the same time because of ill seated magazine, almost cut a round in half with the bolt
