  • Joey must be proud

  • ok, now hit that rayquaza with QUICK ATTACK!!

    ''rayquaza uses extremespeed!''

    ...

    SHIT!!!

  • man rattata get the focus sash for one battle or getting it forever

  • Quick Attack starts with Q..... so it should be F.E.Q.R.!

  • @hanselhater F.E.A.R. also means: "F***ing Evil Annoying Rodent".

  • @crazitaco I would have also taught power trick to Shuckle to switch it's weak attack stat with it's all impressive defence. That would really annoy people. XP

  • I'd rather use Double Team/Rest, pisses everyone off.

  • @rawknrole67 lol thats what my shuckle uses.

it has toxic, sandstorm, double team and rest :D

    i <3 annoyance pokemon

  • oh man this is worse with aron, sturdy, and sandstorm in effect . i only won cuz skyarmory is a beast

  • I just love f.e.a.r., cause it's making your enemy going wild!

  • Rattatatatatatatatatatatatatatatataatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata whataaaa

  • :O So thats what Youngster Joey meant by not having a regular ratatta

  • Fucking

    Evil

    Annoying

    Rat

  • THAT RATTATA'S NOT A REGULAR RATTATA IT'S LIKE IT'S IN IT'S TOP PERCENTAGE AS A RATTATA

    OK BYE -click-

  • I shall now breed an army of LV 1 Rattata and Magikarp to catch legendaries. :|

  • @ShayminQueenReviews or just use false swipe.

  • good news everyone! i'vv figured ot how to beat the FEAR Rattata (or Tailow) just use Shadow sneak or sucker punch

  • Thumb's up for the SSJ3 theme. That song could make eating a bowl of grits sound epic.

  • That rattata is top percentage!

  • Countered by leftovers.

  • His rattata is in the top percentage of rattata.

  • SUCKER PUNCH FTW

  • ssj3 power up?

  • We know the original meaning but why stick to it, yeah it can mean FOCUS sash, ENDEAVOR, quick ATTACK, RATTATA, or it could mean FUCKING EPIC AWESOME RATTATTA, what's the difference.

  • LOVE THE SONG. i know it.

  • OMG that's a really awesome strategy!

  • sturdy Aron with sandstorm are annoying ;D

  • that teach is so old!

  • So much freaking win!

  • Take that Joey on Rt. 30!!!!

  • Top. Fucking. Percentage.

  • YOUR RATTATA IS IN THE TOP PERCENTAGE OF RATTATAS.

  • 0.o duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude......

  • How did you get that pokemon?!

  • fear

    F-fucking

    E-Evil

    A-Annoying

    R-Rodent

I need to set mine up to put on my uber team to fight my boyfriends Arceus team

  • ha ha ha ha i love this i have a (fear) starly (does that even count?) but no focus sash i was going to use them on pkmn br for wii :)

  • Fear ratata is easy to counter. just use boosting attacks or any other attack that doesn't do damage on turn 1

  • only the male has to have the moves since the male is the only one that can pass down moves through breeding... the female just decides what type of pokemon it is... like if the female was a pikachu you would get a pikachu.

  • @YouSukAtHalo wait wat if the male wuz liek a dragon thing, maybe... Dialga.

Then would the pokemon baby pikachu hav tiem roar???

  • cooool.

My rattatta is about to evolve.

  • you can win beat the champ with a lv 1 team XD

  • Mhm... And what happens if the other person knows quick attack too and uses it before rattata can.

  • Easily countered by priority moves and ghost types.

  • knockoff ftw anti-fear

  • This Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattata.

  • Love it

  • dbz music ftw

  • the annoying thing is that he levels up afterwards time to annoythe hell out of some PBR players

  • I love FEAR Pokemon, not that I have one...

  • so, who got here from TVtropes?

  • @Kytseo lol I did

  • I tried doing this with staravia a long time ago. I was trying to catch Heatran. It didn't work. Now I know what I did wrong. I used a focus band instead of a Focus Sash. Also now I know how to beat any Elite Four with 6 pokemon that have Focus Sash, Endeavor and Quick Attack. Watch out Lance, here I come. >:D

  • I managed to get this to work on HeartGold against Bugsy's Scyther.

Had to trade one from my friend's SoulSilver game, but it was worth it.

  • O_O This is the first video I watched with the new site layout, and the music made it feel like... surreal. lol.

  • music makes me want to watch dbz o.O

  • cool dbz song :)

  • oh man I am so trying this on my friend.

She won't even know what hit her. >:D

  • how many levels did it grow after that? lol

  • Oh...oh wow. Very interesting!

  • My little bro loved this video! Thanks for putting it up.

  • Is the song a remixed version of the lava stage of Tetris Attack?

  • No, it is Super Saiyan 3 Power-up from DBZ.

But, I searched for that "Lava Stage of Tetris Attack" and it sounded really familiar!

    Hope it helped !

  • I get it! FEAR stands for:

F (FOCUS sash - saves your last 1HP)

    E (ENDEAVOR - bring opponent's HP to your pokemon's)

A (quick ATTACK - strike the opponent in the next turn)

R (RATTATA - FEAR can apply to other small pokemon, but Rattata is the most popular pokemon for this strategy)

I know some of you guys already know what FEAR means, but I wrote this down purely to show those who don't understand the meaning of the FEAR abbreviation.

    Cool video, by the way.

  • @magicalkitten1

    nononono! it stands for

    Fucking Evil Annoying Rodent

    XD

  • @mattias1234

Lol. That is the popular abbreviation of FEAR for Pokemon fans according to Bulbapedia (that's where I first heard of this strategy)

  • @mattias1234 It can stand for both actually. magicalkitten's interpretation is just the more family friendly one.

  • @mattias1234 Actually it stands for

    Fucking Evil Annoying Rodent

    AND

FOCUS sash, ENDEAVOR, quick ATTACK , RATTATA. So dont go correcting people if you are wrong....

  • @Pikachufan2882 Well I think it can mean watever you want it to mean!!!! I'm calling mine...

    F-Freaky

    E-Extreme

    A-Assasination

    R-Rattata!!!!

  • @magicalkitten1 No.

    F*cking

    Evil

    Annihilating

    Rodent

  • @MetalKeybladeMaster

Ahahaha! Yours sounded better! "Annihilating" sounds more destructive ;)

  • @magicalkitten1 Heh, thanks.

  • @MetalKeybladeMaster

No probs. I've been breeding F.E.A.R. Ratatta lately and offering them on Wi-fi so I've been successful in my 'Trade' - business-wise ;)

  • @magicalkitten1 how do you wait fist of all were do your pokemon go when you have more than six were do you find that plce what ya click and how do pokemon smash rock in the cave

  • @magicalkitten1 i didnt understand

    thank u so much

  • @magicalkitten1 it can also mean "F***ing Evil Annoying Rodent"

  • @magicalkitten1

I've always though it stood for

    F- Focus

    E- Endeavor

    A- Attack

    R- Repeat :D

  • @At0m1CSn0w

But you can't repeat. The next attack will knock you out.

  • @magicalkitten1 I thought F.E.A.R standed for freaking evil annoying rodent?

  • holy shit!

  • For those of you thinking of switching out after FEAR reduces you to one HP: Rattata can also learn Pursuit. That'll show em'. There are still a lot of ways to counter this, though, but hey, semi-n00bs get a kick in the shin as well!

  • but wouldnt FEAR lvl up if he kills a pokemon making the technique more useless?

  • That's why you only use it in online play.

  • @Cal2Or9ies

Not quite useless. This strategy can even be applied to a high-level pokemon. You probably can't do it in the first round, but anytime you know you're about to get KOed, you can use Endeavor and follow with any priority move (like aerial ace.) Doing it at higher level also gives the pokemon better versatility.

  • @eneekmot aerial ace isn't a priority move, it's a no miss move....quick attack, mach punch, extremespeed, vacuum wave etc are priority moves. ^_^

  • @Cal2Or9ies Make more, chucklenuts. Get a female rattata and make babies.

  • epic flail is better. and funnier.

  • do you use some skill enhancer on your 'F-E-A-R'?

  • it is possible, but not as practical as you may think; the biggest counter to FEAR is the knowledge of FEAR. The simplest counter to FEAR is a ghost pokemon (immune to endeavor). After that, stealth rock/violent weather, status ailments, Knock Off (uncommon, but will KO a FEAR immediately), or simply not attacking (something that FEAR requires to work).

At best, you can KO one pokemon. After that, the opponent is aware of FEAR and can react accordingly.

  • Awesum, gonna try this for sure

  • liar u would die with sandstorm ...

  • yeah i did but i killed him first

  • That's complete bullshit. You can't pull this off against a Tyranitar--its sandstream effect means that sandstorm takes off that last bit of HP before you can use quick attack.

So no. You didn't use it against a level 100 Tyranitar. You can do it against a level 100, but not a Tyranitar. Or an Absomasnow. Or any ghost-type. Not in its truest form.

  • thanks :p

  • How many lvls did it get afterward?

  • i'm just hatching rattata eggs right now hehehe i wanna say my friend's face when i'll beat his all legendary lvl 100 team with all rattata lvl 1 team XD

  • That was pretty cool :)

  • oh LOL.

    This is amazing.

  • Where can u get focus Sash?

  • There's a guy in a house near pal park who gives it out if you show him a pokemon of the level he asks

He won't always give the focus sash though

  • buy it for 48BP in the battle frontier, or do what LordBax said :)

  • Nice DBZ Music...

  • thanks i have a "FEAR rattata" but i didn't have a focus slash! Thanks for telling me how to get it

  • oh my god. That is amazing

  • nice is it still strong when u evolce it? or when it gets higher lvl?

  • Only if it gets strong enough to be left with 2HP or more when it takes a hit. Then, the enemy will have 2HP too and won't faint with Quick Attack.

FEARs are good online, because they don't evolve there.

  • does the 'FEAR' stand for-

    Fucking

    Evil

    Annoying

    Rattata

    I heard that somewhere

  • u heard it from bulbapedia: wiki 4 pokemon. if not well... fear also stand 4:

    Focus Sash,

    Endeavor,

    (quick) Attack

    Rattata

  • Fucking Evil Anhilating Rodent.

  • HELL YES!

  • @cxsss

    it's Annoying

  • @omariisevenbetter

Did you hear about it on Bulbapedia? That's where I first heard of the strategy.

But yeah, that's the popular abbreviation among Pokemon fans :)

  • ant it goint to Lv up???

  • you know one problem is if you test this on a trainer in the game your rattata is going to level up

  • save before and switch off after

  • Comment removed

  • false. it doesnt work on ghost pokemon. however you could use pursuit (if rattata is compatible with it, idk)

  • yeah i have one ther awsome!!!!!

  • It is possible to counter these guys. If you are fighting an expereinced opponent who knows about F.E.A.R. then they could use Quick Attack to get you first. There's actually a lot you can do to counter it if you know what you're doing.

  • yeah i know i ran into my first opponent with one on wifi today and i beat it with my toxix spikes in a second before anything even happended

  • hey where is the guy i dont now where he the guy is and i now im not good to english i am very bad but where is he i can show him the lvl's of the pokemons ?

  • LOL i named my Rattata the same thing!

  • So does Focus Sash dissapear after one use or can it be used indefinitely? Sorry if this comment seems stupid; I've never played D/P/P, but I've played most of the other Pokemon Games.

  • Stays forever

  • Does Focus Sash only save you from damage inflicted by an opponent, or does it save you from, say, Explosion/Selfdestruct? Does it also save you from recoil damage?

  • A Focus Sash will save your Pokemon from being KO'd. It will have atleast 1 HP left for you to make atleast one last move before it is either KO'd or it uses a firststrike move such as Ice Shard and miraculously pulls off a OHKO. They are very useful items. ^^

  • I know that, I was wondering if it also saved you from self-inflicted KO. I guess not recoil damage, that won't 1Hit you. But what about say Explosion from full HP?

  • Oh! I understand now. Yeah, that is a very good question and I've also wondered that myself. I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't be of any help...

  • Explosion/self-destruct is an attack by your opponent, so yes, it would save you from that. I do believe that the item he's using is the item that only protects you when a move is supposed to OHKO you from full health. So, no, recoil damage would kill you because your health obviously isn't full. The only scenario where I could imagine that actually happening is if a Shedinja used struggle. hm...I should try that out...

  • Sorry, I meant if the Pokemon with the Focus Band used Explosion, would it survive? I assume not, but I don't know.

Also, what about Sheer Cold and so on, which usually inflict damage equal to maximum HP?

I'm gonna try that too :)

  • I don't think OHKOs work against, as that was probably the original intention of the focus sash in the first place.

And it SHOULD only protect you from moves that your opponent uses, however I haven't tried your explosion/self-destruct/recoil suggestions yet. I would assume that since it is a move that inflicts damage to yourself, it will not work.

  • Yeah, assumed OHKOs wouldn't as they work by damaging the opponent by an amount equal to their maximum HP, so it does actually inflict damage. One more thing I've got to try out at some point: Perish Song, which I assume will work.

  • Let me know how that works out for you, I'm quite interested. ^_^;

  • To overcome the ghost's immunity to normal type moves, have the two Raticate's know Sucker Punch as well.

It hits first just like Quick attack, but is of the DARK type.

This skill works the same as Quick Attack, but only works if the foe uses a damaging move, but this should not be an issue in this case.

  • Unless it was toxic, will-o-wisp(etc.), or a weather inducing move that would damage the rattata at the end of the turn.

  • dbz backround music nice

  • does endeavour atk make u same hp as your opponent?

  • YEs

  • The other way around.

It makes the OPPONENT the same HP as YOU.

  • in soviet russia o-o

  • lol heres one flaw if u want to try to play online with ur rattata "F-E-A-R" people will know what it is and will switch out

  • We already know that. (most of us)

There are plenty of other flaws, too. Ghost's immunity to normal Atks.

FEAR lvls up after a fight.

If Fear was really that effective, we would see it a lot more of them online and maybe would have been banned. But it actually is very easy to counter. It's only used to make fun of the opponent.

  • nice choice of song, it would only be ssj3 if it were shiny though

  • and don't forget Hail and Sandstorm, or poisons/burns (Poison Point, Flame Body)

  • There are flaws to the FEAR strategy:

    1) if the other pokemon has a Speed-Priority move (Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, etc.)

    2) Leftovers.

  • Or just use a ghost type pokemon lol.

  • oh right. that too.

  • another counter is simply to hold an Oran/Sitrus/Figy/Mago/Wiki/Iapapa/Aguav berry.

  • Pursuit: it's dark type and can hit even while switching

  • lol

  • How can rattata learn endeavor and quick attack at lvl 1?

  • Through breeding. Endeavor and Quick Attack are both egg moves.

  • Ok, thanks.

  • ...

Can you do Fear in Pokemon Firered?

  • ;( Oh phooey,there are no sashes in Firered,only the 4th generation..

    Oh well..

:D Fear Rattata's look very annoying and fun.

  • I have a F.E.A.S....

    F=Freakin'

    E=Evil

    A=quick "A"ttacking

    S=Smeargle...

    haha

  • F.E.A.R. rattatas are awesome if you dont get burned, paralyzed or poisoned on the first turn. I've used my fear rattata & got a status problem on the first turn loads of times! If only it could hold a Focus Sash and a Lum Berry....

  • Fucking Evil Ass Rat! FEAR lmao

  • F = Fucking

    E = Evil and...

    A = Annoying

    R = Rattata

  • does it work to put a ditto and a ratticat

  • rats a tank

  • I'm a huge fan of cheap tactics, and this is one of my favorite.

  • fear pokemons are EPIC

  • Can someone tell me the name of this dragonball Z song?

  • WOW! it says the title of the song and the artist in the ending credits.

  • does the held item dissapear?(i forgot the name) i used my rattata to catch azelf and when i went to catch the other one, the item had dissapeared.

  • I'd just use this on all the non-roaming legendaries.

  • 0_0

  • lmao

  • I was always wondering if you could use the same tactic on a Shedinja...

  • sadly...shedinja cannot learn endeavor

  • Are these any good v a friends level 100?

    I wanna trick them.

  • yeah it works u should see marriland used it on a lvl 100 empoleon once and beat it

  • You mean Untouchable?

He went on to Serebii Net Forums claiming he beat Marriland.

  • Useful ingame, useless in competitive.

  • Hmm...It seems like this would be an EXCELLENT capture operations specialist. Complete the battle combo up until you use Endeavor, then switch in a different pokemon. You are now dealing with an opponent with 1 HP. No matter what you want to catch, and no matter what ball you're using, you should be able to nab it easy. I think.

  • Yes, I used that technique early in game for a quick and easy catch. But now that I have my scyther and gengar level 100, I just put it to sleep, use false swipes so it's 1HP, and throw a ball. Works flawlessly!

  • Thank you! I used this method and it turned out better than I could have hoped. Not only did my FEAR Rattata know Quick Attack and Endeavor, it also knew Double Edge and Super Fang! And it had good stats too!

  • i dont use fear rattata on wild i use them online or with a friend, i dont want them to lv up :p

  • my focus stash dissapears

  • ^^ nice ratt.

  • W00T Dragonball Music FTW!... Fear Ratata ownz...
