@ChannyMarie95 start with your hands placed really low so that your butt is sticking out and your torso is almost horizontal. Also practice the extend butterfly to gain strength on the bottom arm. You also have to commit to going upside down when you kick, this means when you kick you can not have your head up, bring it down. This takes a bit of stregnth.
Hello again, I did it again but this time with my top foot behind the bottom foot and it's so much better. And I found the sweet spot! I'll be posting soon
oh yay! i knew you'd get the aysha, your strength was obvious in your other moves! and OMG you're doing cartwheels & handsprings!!.. i'm soo jealous!! :)
Hey tigiee, just want you to disregard my tip about placing the pole below your knee cap. I found the sweet spot and it's not there. It's kinda runs horizontal along my shin starting from below the knee cap.
aww thanks for being so thoughtful.. i've actually been doing the knee hold for a while now- i've found the sweet spot too, although it's hard for me to describe where it is exactly.. thanks!!
AWESOME! You've got it. I ran to hang up the phone and came back to you doing cartwheel mounts and handsprings. Your sg looks great. Veena's got the best tutorial on that knee hold. That's the one I used. The big trick is in pushing those hips forward and locking those feet. Congrats. Excellent video.
If I'm not mistaken rear kick is cartwheel front kick is handspring. SG was just short for split grip. REDKE71 has some great tutorials and some video's that break down beginner, int. and advanced moves. She shows them and names them. :)
Great job!! been working on those myself but a loooong way to go. I havent been able to find a comfortable spot on the bottom leg for kneehold--will try like you under kneecap.
He loves soft and fluffy things :) and he llikes to knead them and sometimes drool. Oh the life he has!
I don't cross my ankles, just the tip of my feet. Seems that's working for me but I'll give the ankle thing a go and see if that's easier. Thanks Mister!
hey is there any advice on how to get the handsprings i have been trying for a few weeks now but cant get my leg high enough.

Nice knee hold!!! Any tips you could offer?? I am struggling with this one!

keep on trying and kill all the nerve endings behind your knee!
And also, thrust your hips forwards.
Good luck!

Hey
Good work on the Handsprings!
For the knee hold, your feet are crossed the wrong way: top foot should be behind the back foot. It will feel more secure.
I'm concerned about your lower knee placement, I know you say it hurts less, but putting weight through something so delicate is not good!

I read on studioveena to use this spot. There doesn't seem to be any movement of the knee cap when I do it.
Must I use my shin?!?! It hurts sooo much!
I'll browse youtube to see if there's any more tutorials and see if I can find the secret of finding that 'sweet spot'.
Thanks Robyn!

So the front kick handsprings are called cartwheels? And what's an sg?

Thanks hun.
Yeah, just find that sweet spot on the bottom leg, and remember it's the top leg that carries most of your weight.
Good luck! Make sure to post vids of your progress.
And Billy says thank you :)
