Rocky, SRV, Bugs, and EJ all Texas giants, they all rock -but what they bring to the table is so unique and individual, could listen those guys jam all day, in fact sometimes I do!
Just back from 2010 Blues n Roots Concert in Fremantle (Perth), Western Australia, where John Mayall and his band stole the show with an exceptional, tight performance.
Rocky honoured this track by playing brilliant lead on a Les Paul Cherry 'Burst - like a Bluesbreaker. A fluid, intense, polished performance. Stick with the Les Paul - Rocky :-)
Top marks to the whole band - all very talented - especially John Mayall - the world's best blues guitarist talent scout & a marvellous musician.
I am glad Rock is doing so well with Mayall. I used to be a photographer for Lightning back in the 1970's. Back when guitar players of his caliber wernt a dime a dozen. Rock on Rocky
@nsra1933 Rocky, Lightning, Sneaky Pete's, Mother Blues...those were the days...gotta disagree tho...players like Rocky weren't a dime a dozen...he was pretty special...rock on now!!!
Rocky is good. But I liked Buddy Whittington much better. His solos were more creative than Rocky's.
