I disagree. The only unsound logic is that water doesn't just disappear, laws of thermodynamics prohibit things from being destroyed, true that law applies to energy not matter. But matter can only change forms never disappear and be lost forever. Water is still there it just requires processes to make it water again. Also water is a recyclable substance it can be reused. Leaving the water on while brushing your teeth won't hurt that much. Except the water bill.

Did all the water go into space or something? Last time I checked water evaporated turned into clounds then falls back to earth. We will never run out of water. What a dumb video. Just wasted 37 seconds of my life.
@jonnyboy87392 you're right. it evaporates from inland ground water reservoirs and precipitates occasionally in urban areas. community storm drains draw rainfall from along the coastal regions and dump in back into the oceans. meanwhile, these communities/cities get their water from the inland ground water reservoirs. the issue arises because the rain water can't replenish the ground reservoir water as fast as we consume it.
We will never "run out of water" unless some giant space vacuum sucks up all the water on Earth. Water will always evaporate and then rain back down in a cycle.

Like most people, had little idea about the world outside our little world. I remember exactly the day my world view started to change. A U.S. Peace Corp volunteerwas staying as a guest at our house and he shared with me his copies of National Geographic magazine.I was fascinated by the beautiful photos of strange and faraway places.
One day, to my surprise, when I leafed through oneof the magazines I stumbled on an article about Paraguay. I finally had an idea as to how my world was viewed by people outside ofmy country. That day I understood the power of images and story that National Geographic had. How not only they could change a person’s perspective of the world, but most importantly, how you saw yourself and your own people.
I hope to win this prize of the National Geographic photo workshop so I can use those skills to help our cause of promoting good deeds while also bringing that childhood dream ofthose days when as I kid discovering the world through the pages of National Geographic to a full circle.

Even if we managed to halve our domestic consumption through conservation it would still leave over 90% of fresh water being used by the industrial/agri/mining/commercial sectors.
The great city of Milwaukee, WI took this message to heart... We conserved so much water, that city water prices were raised 44% to make up for the loss in revenue. Conservation does NOT pay off!

Somewhere between 8% and 13% of the fresh water supply is used in homes and home gardens/lawns. So while it is good to conserve water at every opportunity - the vast amount of water waste happens in the industrial and commercial sector. Even if we managed to halve our domestic consumption through conservation it would still leave over 90% of fresh water being used by the industrial/agri/mining/commercial sectors.

@waakow it's not about running out. Water that goes down the drain is contaminated with all kinds of chemicals in household cleaning products and soaps. That water can go on to contaminate rivers and then the oceans and the general water supply. There will always be plenty of water - but (clean) drinking water is getting to be in short supply where we need it.

To all of you who are like " so what the ocean is water we can filter that! 1st of all the ocean is 3.5% salt. That's hard on water filters and is why we don't filter the ocean. 2nd even if we did filter it we would have to have pipes running inland. It's the urban hell.

Maybe we don't treat the water like we should so it can go back into our drinking water, but it can be done. Spend more time on that than trying to scare people into thinking all our water is going to disappear. Or maybe people should think more about controlling pollution than water conservation. We can figure out how to get more drinking water easier than dealing with all the pollution we put in the air and earth on a daily basis.
