I expect a lot better from metallica in the instrumental department, very repetitive for the first five minutes. Not trolling, but Death Magnetic did not do it for me, I prefer this band as a heavy rock band more, their thrash attempts just aren't that good. Sure I will get flamed for writing this, but metallica fans are just insanely defensive about someone saying metallica is anything less than god. The reality is Lars can't play, Kirk can't play, James can't sing, and Jason is not there.

@956crazyman19 see, there i'll have to disagree with you mostly because that's an opinionated statement. after listening to all of their songs, or most of them at any rate, i have believed, and i'm sure i'm not the only one, that james' voice got better as he got older and more talented at singing, and that that really showed in the Metallica, Load, and even ReLoad albums, though signs of his improvement in vocals date back to And Justice and even Ride the Lightning with Fade to Black.

@956crazyman19 I just happen to prefer his voice when he's singing, and it's lower and melodic like how it sounds in, for example, My Friend of Misery on the Metallica album, rather than his more barklike vocals in Kill 'Em All. Don't get me wrong I love pretty much everything done by Metallica, except maybe the St. Anger album. I do enjoy listening to their earlier stuff. just, I happen to prefer his older, lower, more melodic vocals. That's all.
