  • Its all about money, as long as they can make money using old teatments most doctors are not in any hurry to try this and the fda is trying to slow down use of adult stem cell treatments claiming they may cause cancer like embryonic stem cells do which is not true but they are working for the benefit of the industry and not the people.

  • I have been waiting for a cure to osteoarthritis for so long now, to hear and see things like this video, and to listen to my own doctors who keep saying, "Just hold on, a cure is around the corner." It all just drives me crazy. Then when I'm looking at these videos of people making such claims, it just makes me wonder, "If the results are being received, why aren't they moving ahead with the process already?" It's so hard to hear that a rescue is on its way, and nothing comes of it.

  • @tryingtosavemymom I agree and when you're in pain you're willing to try anything. I am seriously looking at having this, i do not want to undergo another surgery where this time i may need joint replacement. I would like to take this option before completely removing a joint.

  • I don't think it's "just out of the lab" new. I heard discussion about this on a local radio talk show and the people receiving the injections who claim that they have been cured said they were receiving these treatments for a couple of years now. The way the doctor in this video presents the proposal, he makes it sound to me as if he's curing his patients. Although only one is represented in the video having success, it comes off to me as if it has been successful on others.

  • If it's so great, why hasn't the FDA approved it? It's not covered by any insurance. When I called up my insurance to find out why this procedure isn't covered, they told me that it doesn't work. Why aren't there studies being done? Does anyone out there realize that if this is "The Cure" for osteoarthritis, there will be tons of money saved. So why isn't the FDA approving it if it works so well?

  • @tryingtosavemymom Because PRP is a relatively new treatment for soft-tissue conditions, the FDA hasn't had a chance to conclude its own studies yet, although FDA studies are underway. There have been positive studies focusing on PRP in osteoarthritis, as the Doc in this video points out. I don't think this video is saying PRP is currently 'the cure' for osteoarthritis, but that PRP helped this particular patient who had tried everything without success and saved her from another surgery.

  • very interesting... looks promising
