I played in a band with Hession this past summer for the July 4th concert in Lafayette, Indiana. Might I say he is an absolutely incredible trumpet player. We got to play a couple Maynard tunes and it was a blast!

I just found this video today (July 4th, 2007), and what a find! My brother, his son, another nephew, and I were THERE for this concert, on the mall in front of the capitol, while this was being recorded (little did we know). It was a great concert.

The world just lost Maynard last night, and now every recording of him, official or bootleg is an important part of his legacy. Gigs like this, by the carnival generator were as much a part of his tours as nice concert halls. Thanks for taping this & putting it up here.
