  • My step dad tells me this abstinence bullshit, I thought it was healthy until I read the facts online about STD rates caused by inexperienced sex from abstinence. I never will believe in abstinence again, its all our own choice of having sex without feeling guilty. It tells people to grow up, and make their own decisions of having sex.

  • goverment should stay out on sex ed period.

both religious and seculars suck balls.

conservatives wanted to use the government to denounced sex and liberals use government to promote sex. both of them failed. schools and political control freaks should stay out private business and let the parents govern their own children geez. public schools are nothing but a monopoly turning kids into mental slaves to the state

  • Abstinance is bulls*it

in familys where sex is a ´closed thing´ and kids who don't know much about sex the teenage preagnecy rate is higher

    WE NEED MORE SEX EDUCATION

P.S.: porn and sex education are NOT fault for rape, its the opposite

  • Crona- i dont know if i can handle Abstinence.

  • And to add to what you're saying, the marriage ceremony does not guarantee committment. As sad as it is, my mother was ALWAYS a cheater, even when married. Besides, one can still get an STD from a spouse or get her pregnant unexpectantly. Not having sex until marriage won't prevent ANY of this.

  • reason why in old times people had lovers was bechose their marrige was so bad bechoes they did not have sex before marrige. their sex life was bad so they had to have lovers. so marrige was betwene man and woman and his secretary. now we can have sex before marrige and you shuld do it. this way when you marry you will allready have exelent sex life.

  • before you marry. have sex atleast one year with your partner. that way you have experiences with your partner and sex allso makes you love your partner, having sex before marrige is important. love is not something that is destined. sure you have crush with someone but if you wanna become love them you have to experience the world with them and sex is the most important part of that. sex is not just about having babys.

  • FUCK Abstinence!

  • @canhazthought THATS WHY WE NEED SAFE SEX CLASSES STUPID!

  • Anti Moral Atheist, typical.

  • @jshjamaar *facepalm* you just dont fucking get life. they teach adstenence at the local high school and guess what? ask any teen there and they'll say "yes, i have participated in sexual acts"

  • Christians are so hung up about sex... they don't want to think about it or want to talk about it. My vagina isn't like a pizza or a pie or a piece of paper or even a flower.

  • Exactly. We don't have sex only to have kids only when we're married. "encase they do they should know." Exaaaaaaaaactly, please. The seat belt analogy was really good! It's a major form of control, particularly for women, and it's obviously not beneficial and incredibly illogical.

  • I absolutely hated sex ed in high school. The crap they tried to put in our heads were plain out stupid. I always smarted off to the sex teacher so they would send me to the principal so I wouldn't have to listen to them. I just asked my mom about sex at least she was honest and told me how to be safe.

  • @TheNostalgicPrincess you hate sex ed too?

  • I waited until marriage to have sex; not because of religion, not from guilt... I just wanted to make sure I did it with someone who I knew would be by my side through EVERYTHING and who loves me as-is and both me and my husband feel it was well worth the wait. I believe that most partners married or not have sex for pleasure but enough times with enough people before-hand will make sex mean nothing in the long run because there is always "someone better" out there.

  • One of the main problems with saving yourself for marriage is that, having sex becomes the main reason to get married. It's like you get married to get laid, like that crappy Jo. Bros band.

  • What a whining little baby...

Raise your children how you want and let others raise their children how they want. School choice would correct this, but of course control freak leftists won't hear of it.

  • @kazeet456

    "control freak leftists"????

are you high or something? its the right wing which is busting our balls about abstinence (not saying that the left wing are supporting it) but conservatives are all in for "family values (my ass)"

also not all parents are capable or know well enough to raise their kids. thats why we have school but when school fucks up thats when the problem starts *cough*intelligent design *cough*

  • Im writing a paper about this subjct, and it need to refute the idea of Abstinence Only. Im going to use your video as part of my paper.

  • I don't think it sends a mixed message. It only becomes that If you don't know how to approach the subject. And just by teach 11-13yr olds not to have sex at all is just not enough. I think they really need to be taugh about the reality of what is and of what will be. And I also think cultures play a factor in how we as adults/parents talk to teens about sex. Because sometime you can talk to them till your blue in the face and they are still going to go out and do what THEY WANT

  • 4:30 ... This idea that you're going to shelter people from emotional storms

Well we are trying to protect our girls from emotianal and physical (i.e AIDS) harm. Because these harms are real, don't believe me? Click on this username and see two people who have AIDS. One guy telling you he's out to infect your daughters and another guy with AIDS on his face. Who would be against sheltering our girls from this, emotional harm?

  • 3:20 ... If we were concerned "we would say don't do it ... but if you do ok?"

This is what a condom is. Well, that's double talk. If we're saying don't, why should we suggest DO at the same time we're teaching 11,12,13 girls etc don't?

That sends a mixed message. We're not about that.

  • 0:48... At least in case they do they should know to "protect themselves?"

Click on my username, then vlog. Hear Romance without regret part 7, there jason asks "who do you protect yourself from?"

0:54... You may tell your kid don't take my car, you don't have a license yet.

I told my nephew don't drive, he went anyway. Now he's in jail for a year.

1:01... But wouldn't you want him to know, if he in the event that they were to take the car how to use a seat belt?

    NO, its illegal.

  • They were hoping you didn't hear this but ... She heard the talk on sex now her boyfriends depressed, lol Now children, hear Jasons speech to high school kids about sex and you'll be mature as he is. After hearing do you think he would ever look at even one sleaze promo site? pure love club ,com 1. click, Seminars 2. Speakers, Jason 3. Public high school talk 4. Real Audio 5. email to friends 6. you'll no longer be a "secret admirer of prn" 7.Thank me later
  • @BJJistheway

Bad sex can lead to tension and stress in a relationship. Sexual intercourse is a HUGE part of most relationships.

  • Have fun divorcing your wife because you suck in bed. Believe it or not, marriages can fail due to incompatability in bed.

  • Also, you want to use persecution as proof of your religion? Congratulations. Guess you just proved every religion there is or was is true as well as the lack of religion.

  • Christians are the majority--even if it is true that Christians donate more money than any other religion, what does that mean other than they have superior numbers? Also, there are atheist charities--fewer than religious charities, I'm sure, but that isn't the point. I know I, personally, have donated money to Christian run charities before--I don't really make a distinction, and I'm sure many other atheists don't either. Atheists are just as generous and willing to give as the religious.

  • @BJJistheway Fuck god! Religion is the worst thing that has happened to human society.

  • @BJJistheway Are you seriously as ignorant as you seem? No offense intended, but sex is much much more than just the act of direct intercourse itself. And as far as intercourse is concerned, there are other things you have to provide a form of penetration than just the penis such as fingers, dildos, and vibrators etc. Plus, even if you do use your penis in direct intercourse during sex, of you are afraid of impregnating your girlfriend you can use condoms and there are other birth control option

  • Dude I just got through an abstinence class, and you were dead on.

    IT IS BULLSHIT.

They should tell us how to deal with it in all ways. More or less, they should tell us how to deal with the situation in the event that we do make a "mistake", That was without a doubt the most useless month of school I've ever taken. In fact in the time I spent in that class I would've been able to fix the problem of even having a premarital child. All I really gotta say is that you are dead on.

  • that's the spirit!

  • Awesome video. I wish there were more intelligent people like you in the world.

  • I'm not married, but I've only had sex in a relationship. I've never done one night stands or anything like that. If you only do it when you're in a serious relationship with the person you love then what's the fucking problem?

  • LOL, BJJ, get out of here. You're blatantly obviously trolling.

  • @BJJistheway

I don't have sex and I don't indulge, sex is best between people who love each other and are truthful married or not, sleeping around is just irresponsible and a waste of time.

Abstinence only works if you have either the discipline or no social life. Sex still is a biological need and needs to be fulfilled.

  • We get the same chemical reactions and pleasures during when were eating. You need to have sex to just as the same with nourishment or you will get ill.

Abstinence can work, but most kids don't care about that so we need to be taught about safe sex to prevent pregnancy and STD's. Telling us nothing about safe sex is like giving someone a gun without knowing how to put the safety on.

  • @BJJistheway

You really have no idea about typical teenage relationships or life. I've got a friend that does sleep with his girlfriends and drinks, but he doesn't just go out every night and party's hard. He know how important school is and he cares for his girlfriends so wears a CONDOM.

We are teenagers. Hormones are surging through our bodies and we will never be as horny as we are now. I do fallow a loose version of abstinence, but in no way is sex before marriage bad if done responsibly.

  • @BJJistheway You obviously have a very narrow minded understanding of reality my friend.

  • @BJJistheway That does not mean that we are to abstain from sex however.

  • @BJJistheway In another place and time, maybe it wasn't such a great idea. But in this day and time, for many people it is the only realistic alternative to no sex at all. I have found that christian evangelicals etc. and other religious people who are supporters of the abstinence garbage have all married very early as a rule (which is to be expected from these hypocrites of course) while the rest of us wait until we have established careers before we even think about traditional marriage.

  • @BJJistheway Yes! Practically speaking at least! Sex is what drives the machine. It is what our biological being is centered around. You can argue all you wish too but what you say cannot stand up to realistic scientific facts. The truth is, from the moment people's bodies become sexually mature sexual activity is to be expected and understood. This is because it is natural to us. People like you who would like to keep people from sexual fulfilment, are the stain of the earth.

  • Its perfectly ok to have sex before marriage, but don't have children before marriage because you will end up in poverty.

  • Not really, especially if you're already rich.

  • well, of course that's the exception to the rule, but for 90% of the population this is true especially if it interferes with a college education.

  • OMG DID ANYONE SEE THE SPIRIT ORB AT :52?!?!? OMG OMG!!! Peter is a spirit medium!!! holy shit!!! OF COURSE IT WASNT DUST ARE YOU STUPID?! OBVIOUSLY A SPIRIT ORB....

  • orbs have have no relation to spirituality

  • i didnt say they were... but thats their title. "Spirit orb." it was a joke anyway >_>

  • i say it was a moth

  • People who support abstinence only education act like their generation was the first to invent fucking before marriage, forgetting that the idea has been around along time. Sex before marriage has been around since before marriage.

  • Sure, but it was not glorified like it is today. In my grandmothers time people were ostracized for having sex outside of marriage. People today just have no shame. That is the problem, people need a healthy amount of shame when it comes to this sort of thing.

  • You're right people should have a healthy amount of shame regarded sex. A healthy amount of shame being zero. No one should be ashamed to be human period.

  • You said that right! I cannot tolerate this odious religious crusade of repulsive dogma against human sexuality and it's necessary and pleasurable function within human lives. Why try to take it away from people? Abstinece is for fools and retards.

  • Shame of what? Our own bodies? Our own birth? I am sorry, but You my friend seem to have some loose screws up in your head. Maybe you should get laid more often.

  • Again you hit the nail on the head so to speak! Right 100%

  • This kid's channel is fucking scary. He dresses like a complete wigger.

  • this is just 1 of the examples of the detrimental effects that xtianity is having on public health issues in our country: the other major one is the link between homophobia and the spread of hiv among married women who make up about 40 % of new hiv cases, thanx in part to the 'down low' lifestyle of men raised in homophobic environments who think they must marry women even if they're really gay

  • Having sex doesn't make you grow up. Waiting for marriage to have sex will not stunt your emotional growth. The first time I had sex there wasn't this great awakening and suddenly I had arrived at adulthood. NOTHING CHANGED. Sure it was a new experience, but I knew basically what would happen beforehand. Waiting for marriage is best, but I do agree in teaching kids to be safe. I don't want my kids having sex before marriage, but I don't want them becoming or getting someone pregnant even more.

  • What's wrong with being sexually active and safe?

  • The drain on society is what is wrong with it.

  • I could mention that TV is a drain. So please tell me how being sexually active became a drain?

Please be more specific this time with examples...I really would like to know why it's so dangerous for society as a whole (or what ever it inflicts)

  • Having babies when you are not able to take care of it. The increase in abortions. The increased likelihood of children from single parents to commit crime. There are many other problems and even if the parents are married, that is no guarantee that they will stay together. But divorce is a topic for another time. Not having sex until in a stable and committed marriage is the best way to do it. Outside of marriage you can only make it safer but never totally safe there are still dangers.

  • You go under the premise that they will have a child buy since when does sex lead to that?

Back then, it was inevitable but now? Really?

    Now?

I am aware of at least 10 forms of contraception.

    Ignorance leads to having pregnancies.

  • No, irresponsibility leads to pregnancies. Just because these methods are available doesn't mean they will be used. Besides the only two ways to ensure that a woman won't get pregnant it for her to have a hysterectomy or not have sex. No amount of education will ever make people responsible.

  • Maybe have everyone wear chastity belts?

That will defenetley guarantee no pregnancies. Even if her legs are open.

I disagree with what you wrote. You basically said that education about it has no use since people will impregnate one another either way. What if a couple want to have sex and not the child?

Then what? pull out? I don't think so....

I assume that you think that kids won't bother with the education and do it what ever way they please. And regarding the last sentence-

  • then let's ban ANYTHING that has any harm to anyone since being educated about alcohol, driving or any possible addiction won't help them.

  • still alot of the time people get unwanted pregnacies because they are drunk and aren't thinking about what there doing and forget to use protection.

  • Are you a nutjob or what? If you don't want your kids to have sex before marriage than you better hope they get married at a very young age. Especially in this day and time when a professional career is put ahead of marriage.

  • It's the story of the scorpion and the frog crossing the river.

  • Abstinence only education is statistically less successful then no sex-ed.

  • P.S. Since when is giving out less information better? I thought schools were there to help prepare you for your future.

I mean, I realize people make life choices that don't involve everything they've ever learned in school...I've never had to analyze 19th century poetry outside of high school English class, but chances are a fair amount of people can benefit from learning comprehensive sex education as opposed to not learning anything except to not have sex.

  • Biggest problem with this is that the people promoting this kind of curriculum are doing it solely to reduce teenage sexual activity...failing to realize that in a few years these teenagers will no longer be teenagers. Even if someone does wait til they are married before having sex, wouldn't they need to know some basic facts about reproductive health and contraception for use during their marriages? Not every set of newlyweds wants to have kids right away, or even at all.

  • I do regret my first time not being "special" because it was the only random hook up I've ever had. To wait for marriage is silly though, in my opinion. Had it been with my first girlfriend it would have been special regardless of the fact I want absolutely nothing to do with her anymore.

All that evidence that abstinence only education is harmful to society and does the exact opposite of what they want it to do and they still won't let it drop.

  • Comment removed

  • All relationships of any value carry the risk of rejection,

  • completely agree with your argument here. great vid.

  • I think there's something to be said for reserving sex for people you really have feelings for. Sleeping around with 50-100 partners might make some people happy, but it's nice when certain things really are special and not just trivial.

  • The funny thing about human nature and conservatives is that conservatives will use human nature to justify capitalism. Humans are greedy. We seek the highest value for the lowest cost. Capitalism is a system built around human nature.

And yet, when confronted with human sexuality, these same conservatives will fail to embrace human nature and instead think that you can shackle it and force it to be something it's not.

Weird. They'll promote fiscal responsibility but not sexual responsibility.

  • if you're going to discourage sex you need to encourage masturbation

  • Religion aside, there are some pragmatic reasons for abstaining from sex until marriage, especially regarding teenage sex. Usually when a couple is married, they have reached intellectual maturity and are committed to one another, whereas a teenager who engages in casual sex is not committed to his partner and may not have the rationale to foresee the possible ramifications of his or her actions.

  • so teach them of the possible ramifications and how to avoid them

as many others have already said. if you tell a teenager to not do something, they'll do it all the more

and as tomfrankly above you mentions somewhat in jest but with also some truth; if you really wanted teenagers to have sex less, you'd have to encourage masturbation

we're animals like any other. we have almost irresistible urges as soon as we're capable and our natural age for beginning reproduction is early teens

  • Abstinence only is based on the idea that you can prevent someone from doing something just by telling them not to do it. If that were true, we'd still be in the garden.

  • Well of course it has nothing to do with the real world.

Abstinence only education is promoted by the same people who want to believe the earth is 6000 years old.

You can sit down and explain to them over and over and over again how abstinence only has been shown to not work EVER and it simply won't matter.

It is not about preventing anthing so much as it is about legislating morality and imposing their christainity values on others based on the idea that sex is original sin.

  • you have done it again my friend! 5/5

  • ...or you could become a really religious person. I know that is not so efective as the methods mentioned below, but it always will be a great help for corrupting human nature and filling it with unhappyness, but for peoples own good of course ;)

  • You suck Tooltime, you just don't get it. Abstinence is a great way for avoiding unwanted pregnancy and STD's.

My only criticism towards abstinence only people is that they don't take it further enough.

Now that they are surpressing human nature(for it's benefit), why not think in castration, I think that's even more efective than abstinence, especially in case of rape. Or what about suicide, there will be no pregnancy for sure. STD's? well thats never been an issue for death people...

  • For it's benefit? LMAO, you couldn't be more wrong, buddy. According to this here study:

    themedicineprogram(dot)com/category/showSubcategories/Sexual_abstinence

A psychologist named JM Prescott found a link between sexual repression and aggression, insensitivity, criminal behavior, and a greater likelihood of killing and torturing enemies. <-So no, you're dead wrong, abstinence is NOT a good way to avoid teen pregnancy and STDs unless you want more girls to get raped by their angry boyfriends.

  • Wow I never get tired of this experiment. 4 thumbs down wow.

It's amazing how people don't read the whole text and just with a blink of an eye they judge if the comment is within their view or not. Pretty sad for suposedly critical thinkers.

It always shows a very low IQ to not get a very obvious sarcasm.

  • Well, there is no tone in the speaker's voice in online comments, so it's hard to tell if they're being sarcastic or not, especially when a lot of the time, conservatives are being dead fucking serious when they preach about their abstinence only bullshit.

  • There is absolutely no need for a voice, just reading(READING) the whole message will make the issue more than clear. Or do you really think I believe that suicide is a good anticonceptive method etc.?

Just be more clever next time before you want to appear being smart and knowledgeble. I can see by your profile that you are a smart and intelectual commited young man. Although your taste in art sucks a bit.

  • naivetaay?

  • Yeah, I don't get the whole "it won't be special" argument. Seriously religious-types, when you "lose" your virginity, you're not actually losing anything.

  • It might make sense if you look at it from the perspective of a bronze age Palestinian goat herder. If women are property and are sold (I mean married) to a man who sucks at sex you don't want her to have any basis for comparison. Then she won't be as dissatisfied and less likely to go astray. Just ignore the renaissance, industrial revolution and information age and it works.

  • Don't forget to include the Iron age, the age of reasoning, and 90% of the lessons from the agricultural revolution...

  • as soon as you tell someone not to do something, they will go out of their way to do it,

  • save yourself for marriage, that's a great idea, and when your partner is terrible at fucking or somehow doesn't satisfy you well... sticking with your car analogy, would you buy a car without trying it out first?

  • Aw, today seems to be sex day on ze youtube. Anywho, I'm still a virgin, but that's mostly because I just haven't found the guy I'd enjoy to have sex with. I'd like someone that truly cares about me if they want to get anywhere near my nether regions.

As for my parents, they think abstinence is ridiculous. My mom and I actually had this conversation of contraceptives that she liked the most.

*Sigh* Yeah, that will be burned in my brain forever

  • I'm having a hard time understanding why you expect religious believers to change their behavior simply because of the facts of nature. I see atheists smoking cigarettes even when it says right on the pack that they're known to cause cancer. People don't always want to do the smart thing.

  • Food causes cancer. We should stop eating.

Sunlight causes cancer. We should hide in the dark.

Aging causes cancer. We should stop aging.

NOT mentioning that alot of people smoke cigarettes. Atheist, theist, diest, polytheist, naturalist...

So your argument that "atheists smoke cigarettes" does not make sense.

  • every category of person smokes. everyone does what they want to do regardless of the facts. even atheists. that's my point. you got a problem with that? go fuck yourself.

now, i ask you: why should religious people change just because they can't justify their claims based upon scientific evidence. maybe they just like to believe. just like smokers enjoy what they do even though it drags society down...

  • we should not hide in the dark. scientific studies show that sunlight can cause cancer with over exposure. suddenly there was a way to market lotions to protect people..."Sun is bad, sun is bad!, buy our shit for protection."

Sunlight is our best source of protection against influenza viruses. don't overreact. smoking kills...but people like it anyway. even atheists.

  • the point is that when a person smokes despite the negative side-affects, you can actually argue there is a psychological benefit that out-weighs that physical concept

when a religious person says abstinence is a good thing that positive benefit doesn't exist.

to put it another way. smoking can have an individual net-positive. abstinence has been proven to net-negative. more harm than help.

abstinence is just the poster child for the "spreading the unhappiness of the elderly" movement

  • Sunlight is essentially electromagnetic waves. It carries radiation, which can damage the cells. The same way radio waves and gamma waves do (both other types of electromagnetic waves). AND most people spend more time exposed to electromagnetic waves than they do smoking.

    "smoking kills"

Life kills. 99.999% of all people who ever lived died. And it's 100% if you consider the myths and religious doctrines as only stories like most reasonable people do.

  • Your argument. When extended to other carcenogenic substances, it falls apart.

"why should religious people change just because they can't justify their claims based upon scientific evidence."

Because in order to keep their actions and beliefs, they refute how the world actually is. They seek AND SPREAD ignorance, which almost always results in a net negative to the self and society.

On abstinence to smoking, kukulza has a good point: the "positive benefit" of abstinence does not exist.

  • I think you guys are full of baloney. People smoke because they like it even though it causes a myriad of health problems. The short term benefits of satisfying an addiction are laughable compared to prayer and meditation.

People tell kids not to have sex because

    1) they don't want them to get pregnant

    2) they don't want them to get a disease

    3) they want it to be saved for marriage, etc.

We can disagree with these all we want but don't project your imaginary evil motives on them.

  • 1) Safe sex, such as condoms and birth control, has 99.99% success rate when done correctly.

    2) Safe sex again has a 99.99% success rate.

    3) When kids are forbidden from something, they will (generally) do it anyway.

Meanwhile, shouldn't they know how to be safe if they do go behind the parent(s)'s back(s) and have sex?

  • I'm not arguing against condoms. I'm saying that people will just do what they want regardless of the facts. How many people in the heat of the moment decide, "to hell with condoms". Yeah, a lot. How many people smoke? How many people eat at McDonalds every day? The list goes on and on. We single out religious stupidity and ignore the bigger picture, I think.

  • Most people today aren't taught about condoms. If they are taught, then they can be prepared.

Same thing with contraceptives and birth-control.

And comparing smoking, sex, and fast food... Smoking: personal choice; makes them happy and leaves them with responsibility. Sex: personal choice; makes them happy and leaves them with responsibility. Fast food: personal choice; makes them happy and leaves them with responsibility.

Each of them can be controlled, if people are taught how.

  • How can they be controlled? Smoking: limit the amount you smoke, or try to at least, and be overall responsible. Sex: practice safe sex when you do have sex.* Fast food: exercise and limiting the amount you eat.

*This is the point of the video: teach them safe-sex so that WHEN they have sex, they can be safe. The title even says "Abstinence Only. Still Bullshit."

**Your use of "People don't always want to do the smart thing." in your first post neglects those who are smart in it.

  • According to the Pope, condoms cause AIDS to spread. You gotta point out this stuff, particularly now when the "religious" are fervently involved in politics.

  • none of it matters except to individual opinion

  • onijester56: "Life kills. 99.999% of all people who ever lived died. And it's 100% if you consider the myths and religious doctrines as only stories like most reasonable people do."

So, your point is what? That smoking doesn't shorten an already short life? That smoking improves the quality of one's health? That smoking increases our scientific knowledge of disease so therefore more people should do it? **Broken Window Fallacy**

  • My point is that smoking is a personal choice. If I don't want to smoke, I don't have to. If "Joe from down the street" wants to smoke, he can (so long as it doesn't affect me; simple economics/morals which you wouldn't know about).

Also, "short life"? What perspective of "short" do you use?

Assume "Joe" were to die at the age of 35 because a piano falls on him. If the average life of a smoker is 50years, then by your logic Joe should be allowed to smoke because it does not shorten his life.

  • "My point is that smoking is a personal choice."

It's a personal choice that has devastating social implications. The amount of literature is gigantic on the subject.

"Assume "Joe" were to die at the age of 35 because a piano falls on him."

Umm, people don't deliberately stand under falling pianos. I'm not advocating making cigs illegal. Although the tobacco lobby is against legalization of marijuana. Sell pot = jail. Cigarettes cause far more death than illegal drugs = a social problem.

  • But none of this really matters because people don't really care about the facts if they want to do something. They just do it. I'm a skydiver and I know the risks. I'm also an occultist so I know the practical benefits of imagination. People like to pray and believe in God and it's WAAYYY more healthy than smoking cigarettes. It doesn't even matter that their gods are likely fiction.

  • Sexual repression actually has a direct connection to emotional and psychological problems.

  • Yep. Agreed. I think William Blake said it very eloquently in the Marriage of Heaven and Hell.

  • I was taught how to use a condom in 8th grade. Since then, I have made love to many dozens of women, some more attractive than others, and those I prefer being aggressively intelligent. Isn't it great when women are aggressively intelligent? Especially in a society that barely values intelligence in women in favor of beauty. However, since 8th grade I have contracted only a few STDs, and happily have a limited family of 4 children. Although, I have recently been contacted by a former lover?

  • im sorry but shouldnt the parents do this as well??? its not all the school systems fault.

  • "A man with a family will do anything for money," -Charles de Talleyrand

They're hoping to get the kids saddled with responsibility before they are old enough to think for themselves. Then they'll pass on their father's ignorance to their own children. That's the best way to keep a population docile.

  • what part of Christianity isn't about keeping the population docile while increasing the political power of their organization?

what part of main-stream religion isn't about getting the biggest herd of sheep for the shepherd to butcher for meat and fleece at will?

What religion doesn't engage in mind control before the child is capable of individual thought?

Pyramid Schemes are more moral than most religious actions...

  • Exactly. It's just that the fundamentalists (in any religion) are more dogmatic, more rigid, and want tighter control over their congregants.

  • i hate that we call them "fundamentalists"

their stance isn't fundamental at all. True Christian fundamentalism would be a desire to imitate Jesus and his good character as much as possible (even atheists agree. Jesus is a pretty good role model if you ignore the religious bullshit)

the closest thing to genuine fundamentalists in Christianity are the "low man on the totem pole" fathers who only reside over a single church and only perform ceremonial services and regular mass. no rally bullshit

  • call them what they really are.

    radicals.

  • The term 'fundamentalist" refers to a series of 16 fundamental points (later whittled down to 5) agreed upon during a series of conventions at Niagara and Chicago between 1878 and 1928 by conservative Christians.

If you think Jesus was a good teacher, you might want to look at a critique of the Sermon on the Mount published at Iron Chariots . org. Just plug "Sermon on the Mount" into their search engine.

  • ya. the idiots that are the fundamentalists came up with the team fundamentalist and we accepted it because back then they weren't viewed as quite the idiots we know them to be now.

so we should give up the stupid term and just call them what they really are. Christian Radicals.

  • Look up the movie Jesus Camp, it can help back up your argument/point.

  • i've seen small clips of Jesus Camp and am already too disgusted to watch the full movie...

i fear i might hurt myself out of pathetic attempts to forget the pain of listening to the movie.

  • Jesus Camp was sooo boring and horrible and cruel..that should be illegal..there are kids that are being lied to in there...

  • Abstinence-only is like telling kids "Don't bother with umbrellas--you just have to not get rained on."

Now, I have a pretty strong emotional link to sex myself, so I don't **plan** on doing it before I'm married, but you never know. I stock condoms and birth control. Just common sense.

  • It's not vindictive! It's that they're scared of them having any of this knowledge yet at all...

Prevention knowledge leads to knowledge of the things that need to be prevented... They don't wont their children to be adults before they have finished being children...

So they don't make TERRIBLE mistakes!!

Granted the world is different now to when we were young and a lot different to when our parents were young.

Chavs and Sluts be gone... Let the rest be children...!!!!!!!!

  • Tbh it's our responsibility as a society to give these kids the knowledge of birth-control, sexual awareness, and relationships. Saying 'We're too scared so we'll just scare them into abstaining' is bullshit and it does little to solve the problem. It shouldn't be down to the kids to research this it should be down to their elders to pass on the information they need. This is why teenage pregnancy is at an all time high simply because they weren't educated.

  • nothing can beat nature

    right wingers are retarded

    fuck marriage and fuck abstinance

  • peter probably only had sex a few times with some gross rocker chick

  • ToolTime: Check out "The War on Sin," in The End of Faith by Sam Harris.

    It should be pages 156-164.

  • technically... wouldn't abstinence, if truly following Biblical law (old Testament) would go something like this:

Women must save themselves for marriage because if they're found by their husband, not to be a virgin, they will be stoned to death.

Men must either A. marry the first woman he screws. B. Marry the first woman he screws, then divorce her and pay the Biblical fee mentioned (which would be incredibly cheap by today's standard) or C. shag without being known.

gotta love the Old T (?)

  • You forget that the Old Testament ALLOWS men to have MANY MANY wives.

And the exact law on women having sex before marriage is, I believe, the woman being stoned to death.

As it is for a woman being raped.

Or not following her master's will.

    Or not believing in God.

So really, the only "choice" the man must make is "marry [any and every] woman he screws"...because more wives = more sex slaves...

  • as an atheist i find the whole concept of marriage somewhat laughable actually

  • So do I! And yet there are people who actually believe that the marriage ceremony is God personally a couple "One Flesh" (In the words of the Bible) lol Hence they believe that marrigae is "holy" Whatever that means. But they fail to see that by that very standard sex is what makes what marriage seeks to imitate.

  • Luckly my parents were pretty good about talking to me about sex. They neverf told me to wait until marraige, but wait until you are ready. They explained to me that if I was too embarrased to ask my mother or doctor bor birth control, then I didn't understand the emotional component of sex. I waited until I was almost 21, and I had been with the guy for two years. It was special at the time, but not that special. Telling teens not to do something usuallly makes them want to do it more.

  • i like sex

  • Sex is such a great thing that no one should be mentally handicapped from trying. Wear a condom if you don't want an STD or baby. Don't fuck anything that moves, fuck what turns you on the most!

  • that last sentence was poorly thought out...

i'll let you realize why :).

(or maybe that was your intention... i'm amused one way or another :))

  • You knew my intentions.... 'fuck who turns you on the most'... talking about fucking girls that guys like, not every nasty whore they see... But hey, if u like corpses, have fun with Katie Vick.

  • You sure pick some easy targets lol

  • I've been mostly abstinent, through choice.

Not my own choice, mind you. It's society's choice.

I just can't get laid. Yet.

  • lol.. mostly?

  • Get yourself a hooker mate. It may be insulting to your dignity but in the end you feel free from the bullshit of society imposing itself on you.

  • I only care for sex if it is going to be good. I don't care for sex that only fills the need.

  • I am glad I heard it closer to the end of the video - it is based on a dogma. A believer says all kinds of things about why it should be his way. But the true reason that he or she prefers to keep to themselves is this. It is their mythological dogma.

  • I agree, i don't feel that people should sleep with lot of people just for the sake of doing so, but if you "save yourself" for someone, there's a good chance it's not going to be that special experience you had in your mind. And if (WHEN) you do break up with your first partner, it's actually going to be even more crushing because you though all along they had to be "the one" just because they were your first. Animals don't have these ridiculous "first" concepts and they do just fine.

  • this year I'm thankful that my mother is not one of those parents that believes in abstinence only bullshit.

  • Most of these people advocating it, are stupid, or they married really young in order to have sex, or they didn't follow that stance themselves.

I'm a virgin atheist age 22 almost 23. Why? Because I'm worried that I will be addicted to sex and I'm not confident that I would be able to have sex regularly and I'm making the decision to abstain until I can do it regularly to the point to where I can understand my sexuality as well as my emotions to be able to make further sex decisions for myself.

  • so am I, I'm 19, although i get shit from it. I was also kind of cheated on because of it, and that whole situation fucked me up.

  • You are way too paranoid man if that is the only reason you are abstaining from sex.

Masterbation is what most people do when sex is not readily available. So chill out will you.('',)

  • It's not paranoia. When I used to get blow jobs from my last girlfriend that's all that really ended up being on my mind. I need someone to regularly have sex with if I'm going to have sex otherwise it's going to drive me insane.

Last time I had a girlfriend I was masturbating 4 times a day sometimes. I've had a dream about a threesome which caused me to be turned on for 3 full days with a constant boner. I was unable to cum but still hard and sore.

I have a hyperactive sexual problem.

  • Thats possibly a tiny bit more than I wanted or needed to hear... but thanks for filling me in!('',)

  • Well people kinda force my hand. People are always presuming things.

People assume that the reason why I don't have sex is because I am unable to get it because of how I look, or something else about me, when the reality is I am making decisions that I think will give me a better quality of life in the long run. No kids, no STDs, etc...

People use the same bullshit when they try and pretend that I was never a christian, and that I never sincerely prayed.

People pretend to know me way too much

  • I think you have some issues man. Stop pouring you heart out to people in the comment section of youtube videos. I am an engineering student... not Dr. Phil. I replyed to a comment you. You give me a rather graphic explanation of your circumstances and I acknowledged your reply. Thats just about as far as I think I would like to take this conversation. Your right do... you def do have issues!

  • My favorite moment from my sex ed (or rather abstinence) class was when the "teacher" (and I use that term loosely) said that as long as the girl hasn't been "messing around", the size of your penis won't matter because it'll be perfect for her. -_- Talk about naive.

  • i have a female friend in the very same situation, she is heavily stunded social wise.

  • For sex ed.

Get yourself a hooker and fuck the shit outta her with a condom!

Then get over her and move on.

    End of story.

  • LMFAO!!!

  • Wow. Adult kids teaching kids that ignorance and fairy tale romance is a virtue.

Why do these people love to piss and shit all over the future generations with their bullshit?

  • I think abstinence should be strongly encouraged, but that condoms should also be taught just in case. So I think I agree with tooltime9901.

  • But abstinence is 100.0% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy and STD spread. The fact that sex is an inevitable human drive is not given much weight by the fundie because to them it is a sin and there is always a choice whether or not to sin. And in reality there IS a choice. It is possible to suppress one's sex drive and practice abstinence, and it is 100% effective at preventing STD spread, etc. The fundies just DRASTICALLY overestimate people's ability to resist their sex drives.

  • "It is possible to suppress one's sex drive and practice abstinence"

correct me if I am wrong, but you are not a teen and you don't have any teenage children.

teenagers are roaring cauldrons of hormones screaming to reproduce, masking or destroying all rationality or ability to recognize cause/effect. To just pretend that they can "suppress" these is naive at best...

Education, including the benefit of abstaining, is the best way of dealing with them. In my opinion at least.

  • "It is possible to suppress one's *** drive and practice abstinence, [...]"

of course it is possible, but is it healthy? Arn't the rapists mostly those people who had an unfullfilled sex life, people who surpressed everything, and then suddenly burst open, and commit unspeakable things? Not all are that way, although no one can deny that this is also a quite common thing, if you surpress your feelings/sexdrive, instead of learning how to deal with them reasonably.

  • Ive always had this impression that these restrictions put on sex were made by guys with no game that are angry that they cant get any so they dont want anyone else to.

  • People get their hearts ripped out the whole time because our culture breeds more people who don't care about anyone else but themselves. There are few of us who are brought up not to take other people for granted and treat them with kindness and respect. People are selfish, so they don't consider the ramifications of their actions. If we were taught young how to respect OURSELVES, we'd then be better equipped to respect others too. Totally agree abstinence is not the way. Knowledge is.
