Call of duty made the great revolutionary step with the multiplayer, but WAW had a superior atmosphere, music (GOD, I (L) Shaun Murray), and feeling. WAW was about the real war and survival! It showed the dark side of the war with it's brutallity while in other COD games, everything was about the heroic bullshit propaganda.

cod waw is possibly the best ww2 shooter out there, but its like a 90% copy of cod4. the online is the exact same, the whole game is run off cod4's engine, and the zombiemode is fun the first few times u play but then it gets boring. the co-op mode has a terrible screen set up and inst really that impressive. basically, cod waw is cod4 set 65 years in the past with crappier guns for online and fewer gun customizations. get cod4.

Haven't played CoD4 but I have played CoD5 and they look about the same. I hope they expand a lot more with CoD: Modern Warfare 2 comming out this year in the fall or early winter.

CoD 4 is the best because of the modern weapons and like he said it doesn't focus on a real war and is not restrained in that sense. But CoD WaW has it's bright sides like co-op campaign and nazi zombies. But with CoD WaW you feel the story the game has to say has already been told because of the sheer amount of WWII shooters. In the end CoD 4 is the better game because it's story is not restrained and the game has a more interesting feel to it.

World at War is the better value because it has more modes and features than COD4... but COD4 has slightly better single player because the developers didn't have to stay within the confines of World War II, so it's a toss up. Overall I'd say go with COD World at War.

i like the modern war of cod 4, but cod waw wins in my opinion, cause you have more weapons, ranks, matches and alot more perks. Also, you can finely drive tanks yourself and co-op gives you so much fun while you play with online friends or split screen!

Cod waw has the same engine, a really good story but it has more possibilties, so thats why i like waw more. ofcourse cod 4 kicks ass too and has nice modern weapons.
